Great video. Side note: Cognitive dissonance is really tough to overcome simply by stating the complete opposite of what you believe in. It feels like lying to yourself. One way to make the transition smoother is taking gradual steps in what you say to yourself. “I am mentally weak” becomes “I am capable of getting strong” which becomes “ I am getting stronger every day” which becomes “ I am strong and I will continue to be strong”. Every time you feel comfortable saying one of the levels, you move to the next one. It’s more realistic than doing a complete 180 imo

My 3 most common everyday old thoughts: I’m lazy I’m fat and out of shape I don’t have discipline/self control New thoughts and gathering proves: I am hard working. Bc I do practice and attend all my classes. I am getting more fit. Bc Im trying my best to eat healthy I do have discipline. Bc I do still do hw for some of my classes. I am able to pick healthy foods only, at the store.

To be honest. I feel like most my negative thoughts have to do with my idea of how people perceive me. Somedays, I find it easy to surpass those thoughts and other days it can be a complete challenge. But I have come to the conclusion that it really is a tennis match in my head - I bat positive thoughts to the negative and then back and forth until one dominates the other and wins. Haha. But yeah, props for the vid

I tend to find my head empty a lot, or at least not thinking about the environment around me, and this generally makes my day-to-day life static, but not unenjoyable. While watching this video, I was reminded that, for a while, I had conditioned myself to be more productive by being positive in my mind, before slowly forgetting how to do that. That month was some of the most productive in my favorite hobbies in my life. Will have to think about replicating that more seriously.

I'm selfish - I'm a giving person. No one cares (about me or anything I do/feel) - Others do care (about me, I would be missed, I am praiseworthy) I can't do it so what's the point in even trying - I can do it as long as I don't give up on trying. (You've failed as soon as you stop trying) I stupid/dumb and slow - I am smart, just not in every field and that's okay. It just takes me a second more to click but I will still understand. I'm nothing but a burden to others - The right people and the people who care about you will not think of you like that. I'm unworthy of love - You deserve to feel loved.
