Rest in peace dear Judith Durham, 5th August 2022. Your voice and music has brought such happiness to so many thousands of people for so many years. My childhood was enriched with The Seekers records often played in our home, something I did for my children and grandchildren as part of music in their lives.

I agree,I'm 78 years "young",I can remember them singing their lovely music in the early Sixties!!!, infact I have some of their records(45 RPM) in my collection!!! They are, in my opinion , one of the best (if not the best)singing group that has ever sung music!!! Nov. 26,2022.

The finest, purest female singing voice in my time. Wonderful, the Carnival will never be over Judith.
@lutherleeboggs56558 жыл бұрын
The only female voice I've heard that I'd compare to Judith is Anita Carter, but sadly Anita never really broke away from her Carter Family/Johnny Cash back up role. If she'd have recorded more mainstream music, I think she would have been every bit as successful and well known as Judith, and being American, perhaps even more widely known. The two most angelic voices I've heard.
@glennhudson16147 жыл бұрын
You are so right L. Im American but Ive never heard a better voice than Judiths. She outshines them all, and I mean all. She is to female singers what Roy Orbison was to male singers. None better.

From 'down under', thanks Kimberly. ♥We Aussies were extremely proud of Judith and the boys' success overseas. And to lose Olivia 4 days later was a hell of a shock. Loved her too. Just hope the boys hang on. Can't bear to lose them too. I was in love with Judith at a very young age. I had to compete with all the other boys in my class though...lol. "She's mine!", "No, she's mine...." Such was the impact she had on we young lads...the beautiful girl next door. So Aussie she was, yet so classy a singer/musician. We already know how good Keith, Bruce, and Athol were...well they still are.

Dear Judith, I learned to love your angelic voice not so long time ago. I was a little girl when I listened to some of The Seekers's songs. I speak Spanish and didn't know anything about English, but I loved these songs. Now, I do know English and enjoy most these music. I feel extremely sad for Judith's loss. And as some say, now you are an angel and singing so beautifully in Heaven. I will always love you.

I find it so profound that Dusty sang, "Goin Back", which became her eulogy & Judith sang lead on,"The Carnival is Over" which will, doubtless, become hers. Both vocally-gifted and hugely influential singers, role models and great women; without Dusty, there'd arguably be no, "The Carnival is Over" and, without Judith's interpretation of Tom Springfield's beautiful ballad, we wouldn't have this heart-breaking rendition by which to remember and miss Judith. 💔😔💖💖

Through all these years, Judith Durham and the Seekers have exalted and praised God no matter the circumstance. Considering how contemporaries have faltered in serving themselves, it is quite refreshing to be reassured that what really matters in the end endures the test of time. As we are reminded that we are best measured in times of strife, then certainly the adversities described only serve to magnify that these seekers measure up quite well. Indeed these Seekers have succeeded in their search! It is no wonder that the heart-warming music of Judith Durham and the Seekers will persevere forever in bringing joy and inspiration to people like me, through KZbin or whatever lies ahead. Thank you so much!

The Carnival Is Over" Say goodbye my own true lover As we sing a lovers song How it breaks my heart to leave you Now the carnival is gone High above the dawn is waiting And my tears are falling rain For the carnival is over We may never meet again Like a drum, my heart was beating And your kiss was sweet as wine But the joys of love are fleeting For Pierrot and Columbine Now the harbour light is calling This will be our last goodbye Though the carnival is over I will love you till I die Like a drum, my heart was beating And your kiss was sweet as wine But the joys of love are fleeting For Pierrot and Columbine Now the harbour light is calling This will be our last goodbye Though the carnival is over I will love you till I die Though the carnival is over I will love you till I die..... NOTE: This song features the couplet "But the joys of love are fleeting/ For Pierrot and Columbine." Pierrot and Columbine were the names of two stock characters in the old Italian pantomime-like theatre known as del'arte Pierrot was a sad clown in love with the beautiful Columbine who breaks his heart by leaving him for Harlequin.
