It’s a GLOBAL economy!!! I’m retired in the South Pacific and currently in Indonesia, where they also feel the pinch of the GLOBAL economy, but they’re smart enough to not blame Biden. And they know that Bif won’t fix that. You think you voted for cheaper eggs, but you voted in what 40 of his former cabinet members called unfit and DANGEROUS. You didn’t work more closely with him, and you don’t know him better than they do. Hitler got himself elected too. But the Germans didn’t have the pressing warning that you got. Enjoy Project 2025, and groceries prices that Bif won’t fix.

Wages have been stagnant since Reagan. It’s what happens when you depreciate Human Capital and promote the practice of Maximizing Stock Share Holder Profits margins by reducing overhead cost with cheap labor overseas with laissez faire government. I’d also add that buy law CEOs and board members must act as a fiduciary so things like Buyback (which should be illegal like they once were!) are given to shareholders sans any real innovation which is essentially Monopoly to pour into our politics

Humm? Even McDonald's wages went up! But here's the problem, poor people thought when they're wages was going up that they would keep their govermental assistance. Well guess what you didn’t because all programs that help the poor are based off of income! If you got a college degree or is an entrepreneur you hadn’t felt the inflation and basically you're in the same place you were with Trump because we DID get raises this year. However, ive lived long enough to know and say, if you are poor, you will remain poor regardless of who is in office. If you educated yourself or have your own business you will continue to fair well regardless of who is in office. Sadly America is now in a shift and it will not shift back as many believe. However now everyone is going to be a little bit poorer if Trump put tariffs in place!

This also goes for the people who will be surprised at the cost of eggs as inflation hits. She will feel it, but it won’t be the positive changes that Biden brought us. It will be the negative economic impact of the deportations of low cost labor and the rise in costs brought about by tariffs. Good luck in the new economy, honey.

What still gets me about the eggs and bacon narrative is "when or where did everyone start eating eggs and bacon for every meal?! Or so it would seem on the internet. I mean, yes, i eat them, but not constantly. I can easily go without and just eat oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, protein bar, etc. If people stopped eating them then they'd have to lower them to get rid of them. Also about 2 yrs ago a story came out that it was found that the 3(i think it was 3) of the largest egg producers colluded to manipulate prices. The story was in and out of the news cycle so fast. So nobody talks about it.

My children got nothing under trump but substantial raises under Biden, so I guess it may have been who you worked for. My income taxes went up under trump, and my retirement accounts were flat when trump was in office, but under Biden they’ve been growing by leaps and bounds. I had to double check the amounts because I thought there was a mistake in the amounts because they increased substantially. I’m expecting that everything I’ve gained is going to be lost once that idiot takes office again. He added 8 TRILLION $ to our national debt last time, and spent 8+ billion dollars in payouts to farmers who lost their contracts when the countries we had contracted with to purchase their crops and livestock were canceled in retaliation of the asinine tariffs he placed on them. Can’t wait to see how much he adds this time for his wealthy friends.

@@brentwells8963 My first response to you was deleted for some reason. My kids wages stayed the same under trump, but they got wage increases under Biden. One got a double digit raise in 2023. My taxes went up under trump. Retirement accounts grew minimally as well. Under Biden they’ve increased substantially, so much so that we double checked to assure there wasn’t an accounting error. I’m expecting those accounts to tank once the buffoon gets back in office. Musk said the next few years were going to be tough for America and based on the policies djt is proposing, I believe it. Inflation going back up, most likely a recession. Should be fun to watch.

@@James.Suarezcorporations are buying up houses and apartment complexes and setting rent prices. Saudi Arabia owns thousands of homes in the US. Jared Kushner ring a bell? There’s a reason he got all that $ from Saudi Arabia. Don’t blame the president for high rent prices, blame the us for allowing foreign companies to buy real estate here and then turn around and sell or rent it to the highest bidder. Every apartment complex in our community is being built by investment groups, not local contractors like it used to be. If you think DJT will be interested in helping the middle and lower classes get affordable housing, I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed. Corporations are price gouging and they have been since the recovery period after Covid. Unfortunately, once things got back to normal they didn’t drop their prices because no one told them they had to. Same with gas. If you look at the profits from food and gas companies, it’s clear that they’re raking in record profits on the backs of consumers. Not confident at all that DJT will do anything about that either. Now that he’s got the votes, he’s going to do what’s best for himself.

Skilled labor is the hardest hit. Construction workers wages are way down. Electricians Plumbers Carpenters and skilled trades are all underpaid. Many of them don't have collage degrees but rather went through apprenticeships programs for 4 years and are tested before they are licensed. They work in the cold and in the heat they risk injury and even death but are not compensated like they used to be. I'm one of the lucky ones and worked as an electrician for a company that offered a pension and medical at retirement. They matched my 401k and they gave out bonuses for a job well done. They even paid for any college of your choice while you were employed. When I retired back in 2012 I was making $48 per hour and often worked 12 hrs a day and weekends. Tons of overtime at time and a half and double time. Triple time on holidays. Now the best you can do is about $20 to $30 an hour installing solar panels or mindless construction work. Lower wages and higher prices are making us all poor.

I’m waiting until the tariffs kick in and prices start to go up again. I slays me that people are whining about having to pay more for things, but that doesn’t stop them from going on vacations, spending $7+ dollars for a cup of coffee, having the newest cell phone, subscribing to numerous streaming services, going to an NFL football game where the average price is $150 per ticket, having a prepared meals subscription, subscribing to a custom food service for their pets, etc. Restaurants are full regardless of what day of the week it is. Yes, we really have it rough…. America chose fascism over the price of a carton of eggs and it’s not going to be a positive change for the majority of us in this country. Musk and DJT won’t suffer though, I can assure you of that.

@ We live close to an interstate, and during the summer, there’s always a plethora of people stopping at the gas station. They’re driving huge trucks, pulling campers that are bigger than most homes, boats, UTV’s, sometimes 4-6 on a trailer. The resort areas had one of the best seasons as far as tourism goes this year. How do we know this? We stayed at one and the host told us it’s been hectic all season. There’s storage facilities being built in our community because people have so much stuff they have no place to put it. I lost my job during the Nixon administration and I’ve lived through recessions, the oil embargo. I had to cut back on everything during those times. I didn’t buy junk food, ate at home, didn’t eat out or go out with friends. They came to my house and we played games and just hung out. I see people in the grocery stores today that have their carts full of soda, chips, convenience foods, cigarettes and other junk they don’t need. People today don’t realize how good they have it. The minute they have to tighten their spending habits they whine about it and don’t take the time to understand why we went through rough times after Covid. They think we’re the only people in the world who suffered from the pandemic when in fact, we did much better than the rest of the world in recovery. They don’t understand that food conglomerates and oil companies are raking in record profits on the backs of people and are actively price gouging because they can get away with it without any repercussions.
@TheBigPoobah223
@TheBigPoobah223 10 күн бұрын
Miss, people are struggling throughout the ENTIRE country. Just because some people are having fun once in a while, doesn’t mean the economy is thriving. Those same groceries cost more, and we shouldn’t have to penny pinch to this extent to get by. Forget about the housing market, job crisis with massive layoffs, insurance and student debt through the roof, etc. That’s what I don’t get about this whole situation and how Trump unfortunately got back in office. The working class have it hard, and our concerns are falling on deaf ears or are not taken seriously. “Maybe you shouldn’t buy snacks this week.” Seriously? It’s like we’re living two very different realities.

@ I’m willing to bet that most don’t know that price gouging is the reason prices are high. Two years ago, Democrats introduced an anti price gouging bill for big oil. Their profits were insanely high. Republicans rejected it. Anyone who thinks they’re going to go after the food and oil companies and put laws into place to stop these companies from doing so is delusional. Republicans blocked most everything that could have helped the average citizen in the recovery period after Covid. Go to the websites of some of these companies and look at their financial data. I understand companies have to be profitable to stay in business, but to what degree? There’s no laws against them jacking up their prices as high as they think people will tolerate.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, inflation rates have eased compared to previous highs, but the broader issue of wages lagging behind inflation persists. Costs for essentials like groceries, housing, and fuel remain elevated, impacting the purchasing power of many Americans. While presidential policies may have long-term effects, it’s unlikely prices will return to pre-COVID levels due to ongoing influences of supply and demand. Additionally, when tariffs are applied to imported goods, the increased costs often end up being passed on to consumers.

The price indices that are used to _measure_ and _report_ inflation (as percentage changes in those indices) are not perfect, and what's more important, don't even pretend to reflect the changes in individual prices, but try to reflect the changes in absolute money prices overall. Moreover, the people responsible for the inflation rate, the persons with the effective authority and the necessary tools to influence the inflation rate are not politicians (not all of them, at any rate), but they are the people who sit on the Federal Reserve Board and who set monetary policy. What politicians (and by politicians I really mean the political class as a whole, regardless of party or ideological affiliation and even level of government) could do to alleviate the inflation situation, making it easier for the central bank to lower the inflation rate back where it belongs and maintain it there (that's the one and only thing a central bank should do, not all the other nonsense the Federal Reserve is mandated and authorized to do), namely run primary surpluses to _reduce government debt in absolute terms,_ that they will not do, because if any administration or legislature were to do what is necessary to achieve these primary surpluses, they would be summarily voted out of office. *The cause for the Republican electoral victory and Democratic electoral defeat is not inflation, but simply that after having run a campaign as a moderate centrist in 2020, Joe Biden governed like one of the most leftwing, if not the most leftwing, presidents since Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter (in fact, Biden could be considered a mixture of the worst and most radical of those two presidents). In other words, Democrats have fallen victim to the Median Voter Principle because they thought, incorrectly as it turned out, that they could get away with pushing a more "ambitious" political and ideological agenda by eliminating (rhetorically I mean) alternative political options to themselves, labelling opposition (especially on the right) as anti-democratic and therefore as a threat to the political system itself. And this backfired on them spectacularly, and rightly so.*

I am your sister, I kiss your hand, but please raise my comment so people can see that we have been afflicted with harm, where is the Islamic nation? I cried, we died from oppression, who should I complain to, people? We are dying from hunger, by God, I only spoke from hunger and from the hardship of the situation. My entire family and I were displaced from our homes because of the war. We are in a state that no one knows about except God. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Concerning those who brought us to this state, by God, I am tired of this world, by God, my brothers, your sister is tired, in a state that no one knows about except God. By God, the Almighty, she did not write this appeal except from hardship and poverty. O people, they have felt sorry for us. I beg you, by God. The Great, Lord of the Great Throne, it is food that I do not have in the house. By God, my brothers, my brothers have been sitting for two days without food. By God, our situation is very difficult. We are five people inside the house, and my father is deceased, and there is no one to support us. We live in a rented house. We cannot pay the rent that remains on us. I have come to God and then to you. I am in the presence of God and then to your face. I am begging you, I am imploring you to help me for the sake of God. God, my brother, since this morning until now, we are forbidden to eat anything other than water. I swear to God Almighty on the Book of God that I am an orphan girl and I have young brothers. I swear to God on the Book of God that my brothers can no longer utter a word because of the severity of hunger. Our house is rented and the landlord does not appreciate our circumstances. He wants the rent or he will throw us out into the street. I ask you by God and I implore you by Muhammad, the Messenger of God, my brother, if you are a Muslim and you love goodness, to help me as much as you can, to contact me or message me and WhatsApp me on this number +967-737453343and ask for my card name and do not delay and God will compensate you with all goodness 🎉🎉😢😢😮😮😮aaa😢😢😢😢,,,, 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂....,.,.,....،.،.،.،.،.،.،. و.،،

Scott Pelley ... who I once trusted .... is now in my playbook officially part of the msm propaganda machine. I just watched the full 60 minute post election episode from Sunday on my DVR. He blamed the high price of eggs as the reason the dems lost ... and did not mention Kamala's incompetence, the lies about Biden being coherent, the open borders, yada, yada. I then reprogrammed by DVR so it no longer records ANYTHING from CBS, ABC, or NBC.
