If you notice how many card slots there are next to the time clock, then consider how large the hotel is, it's easy to understand why there are two. It would take a very large staff to run the place.

@@tankardoftales4645 I had an old magazine of the sixties, and I remember a comment made in it that Paul McCartney had taped a Beatles performance off his TV with some new equipment. The Beatles seem to have been given experimental Sony movie cameras and VHS tape players in '65 or so. They may not have been the only celebs to get them. Also, people did have movie projectors and copies of movies, celebrities had movie playing equipment in their own homes, even in the fifties, if you go by Sunset Boulevard. Silent movies, anyway. My family had a little projector and some old silent Shirley Temple movies.

If the three movies are a trilogy: Danny loses his dad to insanity, as he works for 'a rich man' (Callahan, an accountant/accountant office also the chef office, where meals are planned) while ultimately failing to pursue his dream. War and terror has it's toll, but only on 'Dannys', not the 'Hotel owners'. Eyes Wide Shut...we rub elbows with those who never have to sacrifice anything of their own...the sick indulgence. And...scene.
@watermelonlalala

Since you bring up Eyes Wide Shut, here is my brand new interpretation of the movie that I just posted on another channel: Oh, I just figured it out. You see Alice sitting by the window, the window sill looks like a white face mask such as Bill and "Mandy" wore at the ritual party. Then "Mandy" recognizes Bill at the ritual party and sacrifices herself for Bill. (How could she recognize him?) Then Alice tells Bill she felt wonderful after he left her dream scene and she had sex with hundreds of men. It's like she's "Mandy" or somehow she did a mind meld with "Mandy". Took over Mandy's body. [Took the treatment they were going to give Bill after he took off his clothes.] Even though Bill was betraying her, she saved him through her mind.

Accountant Henry Callahan is initials HC. This initial have Shining Cather in the Rye main protagonist Holden Caulfield. A caul or cowl (Latin: Caput galeatum, literally, "helmeted head") is a piece of membrane that can cover a newborn's head and face.[1]. is rare, occurring in less than 1 in 80,000 births. And associated with magical or superstition powers. In The Shining, Danny Torrance is born with a caul, possibly causing his clairvoyant abilities. Henry Callahan power is people who are pretentious and movie itself is act of pretentious (pretending) call them phonies. Which are two different things.

This movie was Kubrick's confession, plain and simple. Danny is the young, naive Kubrick, Jack is the older, experienced Kubrick. No accidents here at all. Remember, he even added a scene showing the original red Volkswagen bug crashed, in order to let Steven King and his fans know that this was his creation and not an interpretation of king's book. Kubrick's film is not a confession. He made it very clear from the start that he was changing the story from the book so there's no "confession" be made. The definition of "confession" is "a formal statement admitting that one is guilty of a crime." Kubrick never felt guilty and he never thought his reimagining of the story was a "crime". King was pissed and there are some digs in the movie about their spat over the matter (including the crashed bug scene). That being said, Danny is not a young naive Kubrick and Jack is not the older experienced Kubrick. In the film, Jack is the embodiment of the inherent evil of humanity: he's not some secret autobiographical character at all. So sorry but no.

@@pegacorn13 I think this is how a lot of people see the film. I believe that Stanley Kubrick didn't want to make a horror movie. @@tankardoftales4645 Oh, I thought you meant space wormholes to travel back and forth. hahaha. Well, I don't agree with Miss M, but I did have my own theory that because Ullman invites Wendy and Danny to visit him in Malibu in the deleted scene, he did have his eye on trafficking Danny in Hollywood, or abusing Danny himself. If that scene had stayed, that is what I would have thought, and it would have been similar to the imaginary ending of EWS where people think Alice sold or gave her kid to the cult.
