Married? What did your wedding cost you. Worth it? or would you have done something different on reflection? comment below.
@Fit_Fitz6 ай бұрын
Yes, our wedding cost was between £15,000 - £ 20,000. On reflection I would have definitely stop anyway i.e family or friends presumably bypassing me as opposed to going through my wife because they couldn’t get their way.

Great advice guys. Thank you for all the really helpful tips. For clarity, a lab-grown diamond (what you have called a manufactured diamond) is chemically and molecularly identical to a traditionally mined stone. The process that creates a naturally produced diamond is replicated under lab conditions The result is a mineral that is identical - in some ways a lab-grown diamond can achieve a level of perfection that is difficult and expensive to match via the traditionally mined route. You also avoid all the risks associated with a diamonds history and the huge mark-ups that mined stones incur. My fiance and I both agreed on a lab-grown stone not just for the cost, but mainly so that she could wear it with a clear conscience knowing we didn't add to any potential exploitation etc. You also get to choose all the characteristics you feel are important instead of having to compromise on affordability and ending up paying over the odds for a flawed stone, which for all intents & purposes is not distinguishable from a lab-grown one. If you think having a traditionally mined diamond makes you happier (and the marriage better) then that's a personal choice.

Awesome video and very timely! I loved the part where you talked about the meaning of marriage and Ken’s advice to “keep your eye on the budget.” 😂 You should DEFINITELY do more content for couples, relationships and finance. ❤💍

Maybe we need to do a singles event. A number of our friends have the dilemma that you have. Given a lot of people in our community have a similar mindset, it may be a great environment to meet people.

Marriage...is it also worth it legally do you think? Are there benefits? Another question: if you are already commited to your partner, example, you bought a house together. Is that not enough commitment? What is the added benefit to follow up by tying the knot? Not being cynical I'm genuinely interested in the answers/opinions
@TheHumblePenny6 ай бұрын
It's a sacred commitment. You make important vows, etc. Two also become one spiritually. Plus, legally, it has many advantages including for tax reasons.
@ribaker8223 күн бұрын
I don't believe that buying a house with someone is necessarily a commitment to that person. It's a huge financial involvement no doubt, but then business partners, siblings can do that. Marriage in itself, like Humble Penny mentioned, is a sacred commitment of two people (dare I say a man and a woman) to merge their individual lives into one. Living together (not to be confused with owning a property together) is only a part of that. But I do get your point, as financial matters are huge in marriages.

I personally don’t believe it’s horrible spending moderate money on a wedding. Mine was amazing and had no regrets. It was not until I was married anyways we had more savings to buy a house. Life is in stages and a mortgage is a life debt basically anyways 😂. A house comes with great responsibility also

Great comment. Ultimately, people will do what's best for them. That's what we did and we have zero regrets.

That's just bonkers! It's more about impressing other people when that amount of money is being spent on one day. Fair enough if the couple or their family are loaded but if that's not you, why put yourself under financial strain for years to come?!

I’m not saying all marriages will fail. But it has a divorce rate 45.5% in the us and 49% in the UK. Now if sky diving has that kind of failure rate statistics. People won’t really go sky diving: Bill May 😂😂😂
@TheHumblePenny6 ай бұрын
You have to wonder, what is the root cause of a rising divorce rate? 🤔. That's what needs attention rather than avoiding marriage.
@ribaker8223 күн бұрын
Marrying is not and has never been the root cause of divorce. You might want to look into those stats as well.
