I have pcos and have been seeing a fertility doctor on and off. Every time I’ve had bloodwork done my thyroid tests say it’s in a normal range. About a year ago my fertility doctor said my blood test showed that even though my thyroid results were in a normal range, it looked to be a little low and prescribed me levothyroxine to take because he said it can help prevent miscarriages. So of course I started taking it. It was fine at first then I started feeling like crap and a bunch of my hair fell out. I’ve recently took myself off of the medicine because I just couldn’t stand it anymore. I need to get a full thyroid panel done because I don’t think I have thyroid issues and the medicine is what messed with my thyroid. Very frustrating but thank you for this information. Very helpful and informative 🙏👍

For everyone out there. Even though the labs are self pay, you should check into submitting a receipt for reimbursement to your FSA or HSA if you have those types of accounts.

I’m not a supporter of LMNT, but I also think people are insane if they think flavored items will not have added ingredients. 😂 I do think the chai sounds decent, I like chai tea quite a bit and drink it (decaf) at night sometimes if I can’t sleep.

Hi Jenny. I've had thyroid issues since i was a teen, and have had Hashimoto since 1989. I'm chronically tired regardless of my medication dose. I appreciate all the info you share on this. Thinking about looking into Dr Amie. I'd love the chocolate raspberry. Which one is best with your butter bites?

Hello and thank you so much! I mostly use the chocolate raspberry with my bites :)

Hi Jenny! I'd love to try the raspberry chocolate LMNT! Thank you for sharing your thyroid labs. I have had thyroid symptoms for DECADES, and yet my labs always come up "within normal range". I've had the additional tests you suggested, also. But the doctors say they're "normal". I heard someone say (it might have been Dr. Berry) that back in the old days, doctors went by how patients felt and their symptoms to diagnose thyroid problems, NOT labs. This makes more sense to me, as people are very different in their physiology, and what is normal for one person could be way too low or high for another. I'm so tired of feeling terrible! 😢
@JennyMitich4 күн бұрын
For sure! Symptoms are so important and are heavily discounted these days. If you are feeling exhausted all the time, something is not right!

@bronwynmontgomery97325 күн бұрын
Chocolate Chai! I didn't even know that was a flavor option! Getting these tests are such a pain. I haven't found a doctor that takes my insurance AND is willing to do the tests needed. It's upsetting. I found a doctor to order the tests and my thyroid is drastically off. They won't give me meds because it's so bad I need a special yet they haven't referred me.

My yearly labs only measure TSH with reflex to FT4. Had to google to find out that means they only measure free thyroxine(FT4) if TSH is too high or too low. AI (MS Copilot) says below .4 is low and above 4.5 is high which is the reference range on for my lab report for TSH.

Interested in this one. I went to an Endo back in late August for a possible Insulin issue as well a checking out my Thyroid. Luckily the Endo ran most of the appropriate tests. Had my Thyroid scanned and found 3 nodules one of which was biopsied. It was negative however I am now scheduled for a Thyroid Uptake scan next week. I couldn't get my Endo to check for Reverse T3 however. And she told me to quit supplementing Iodine, which I felt was odd. I had NO Pancreas anti-bodies. And it appears NO Thyroid anti-bodies however mine weren't Zero. ???????

Do you think this Hashimoto's condition could be a problem with your diet?
@JennyMitich5 күн бұрын
Hello! Nope, low carb is the way to go with any kind of thyroid condition. I think my trigger was pregnancy, and the super polluted world in which we live

@JennyMitich Thank you for answering me. It's good to know. I'm still learning every day. I've only been on the carnivore lifestyle for 8 months; before that, I was on keto for about 2 years, and before that, I followed a low-carb diet 🤗 I like your videos.

@@rositalozano16 Nice! How is Carnivore working out for you?

@@JennyMitich To be honest, so far, so good. At the beginning, I was nervous about only eating meat. I had suffered with digestion issues all my life, and I thought that if I didn’t eat enough fiber, it would probably get worse. But after a few months on a carnivore diet, I feel better than ever. My energy levels have changed drastically, and I’m more focused. I haven’t experienced any digestive problems, I don't have inflammation, and I can exercise better. I’m much happier, and I feel like even my mood has improved.. The only thing I am a little worried about is that my LDL cholesterol looks like it puts me in the LMHR group. My LDL has increased a lot, from 200 up to 550
@JennyMitich3 күн бұрын
@@rositalozano16 Hello! Wonderful, I am so glad you are seeing great results. For the LDL, I would worry more about the trigs and the HDL on a lipid panel, as long as your blood sugar related markers are good too :) Trigs under 100, HDL above 50, A1c below 5.6, fasting insulin between 2-6, and fasting glucose 95 or less.

I'm looking forward to your Hashimoto's video as a fellow Hashimoto's patient. So far my numbers aren't too bad so I'm trying to fix it naturally. I did start taking some iodine drops as Dr Brownstein says and had a little weight gain. I'm not sure if it's associated with the iodine but I'm trying to figure it out .
@JennyMitich5 күн бұрын
Hello! Weight gain or stalls just go hand in hand with thyroid issues, I doubt it was due to the iodine. Do you eat low carb or carnivore?

Do you know if they accept HSA cards on the labs?? I’m looking to get my daughter these- she is losing hair like crazy, and ofc OB/gyn took blood but only TSH - and it’s “normal”… 🤦🏻♀️

Hello! I am pretty sure it is 100% self-pay

If you are able to submit a receipt for the labs to an HSA or Flex Spending account you should be able to be reimbursed.

All very well to say get a new Dr. I’m in BC Canada and here you are a lucky person if you have a Dr. at all let alone a good one. Used to have a good one and I asked him for an Iodine test. Apparently Health Canada does not test for Iodine.
@JennyMitich6 күн бұрын
Hello! I dont think any docs regularly test for iodine. I did the 24 hour iodine loading test on my own dime. I dont know if they deliver to Canada though.
@juliehambrook40066 күн бұрын
@ Well if your so smart just name a lab in BC where people can get tested. Not so easy here.
