Actually, at least in the UK, the requirement to bring a child is reserved to Legoland Discovery Centres and those do have adult nights. You don't, however, need a child to go to the Legoland Theme Parks.

On the East Coast in America, 2 LegoLand places did Adult night. All 12 local churches complain and a sex ring conspiracy was created while nothing actually happened. They have not had an adult night since. I was at the second one before they stopped the event. It was mostly people ages 25 to 35. They had local beer and were sold in Lego style cups. Lego wants to bring it back because each Adult night most people spend at least $100 and usually purchase most of the sets in store. Each event the Adult sets were 50% off except sets over $400. I purchased a few Bonsai trees for friends. The problem was people from the local churches kept calling the police or a bomb threat or Swat forces or come to the event themselves armed to the teeth. The closest church is 3 miles from this Lego amusement park place which is inside a mall. A dying Mall mind you.

It's funny how the Japanese sign has more... poetic of a feeling to the translation than the original. It's not even wrong, it's just very liberally translated!

translation is such an art! i remember seeing an image of a hairpin returned from a japanese dry cleaner with an attached note where the english translation read something along the lines of “the following items were found enclosed within your clothing. we are delighted to return them to you,” with an entire twitter thread about the miniscule choices that were made in translation to deliver such a heartfelt tone. i know this is probably getting too serious for a silly comment but i love how translation is as much prose/creative writing as it is just trying to convey a meaning

@@15cola absolutely agree! now that i finally understand a truckload of the original signs and notes and can compare them to the translation, the translation often takes the cake in terms of word choice. it is an art indeed. (and then there's my folder full of pictures with machine translation, typos, or "well Taro-san learnt English for a year in Africa, let's ask him translate this" stuff. i love that so many restaurants serve grass wine.)

Since a fair few people probably earn some money off this channel, I doubt they want to LET the channel fade. And I've heard of a similar channel (WaveTitan) getting shut down with ALL videos removed due to the titles just being "such-and-such compilation #7, #8, #9" and so on. Repetitive content or something, and they just got rid of the whole thing.

Turtlesandwich is on the money, same as to why we hardly do intros or outros anymore. Sooooo many people just clicked off or skipped through them, so we stopped doing them. Currently it's now more successful with the algorithm to have vague titles about the thumbnail than listing a particular subreddit. Even my own channel has taken a monetary hit since last year (dropped from $11 per thousand to $5 per thousand) so it's naturally that our team here at Emkay will adapt to whatever we can to keep affording to run this channel lol
