Taking a bit of a road trip with our Peterbilt 337 with a Century LCG12 rollback/tilt-deck/tilt-tray body to recover and tow a Chevrolet Silverado that ran off the road and landed hard against a creek bank. From the looks of the truck and the scene, it was doubtful the driver would survive. Even though he was air lifted, or Med-Evac'd from the scene, he survived, miraculously. We were called on behalf of the vehicle owner by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Tough job for the little Pete. Can it do it? Thanks for watching and God bless.

Yesterday someone hit me going 45-50 mph , I was stopped waiting to turn left . Had my seat belt on . Swollen left knee and nasty seatbelt rash and bruise on the front of my neck but other than that pretty much ok . And my dog in the back seat was also ok . Back end of my car is toast . I have no doubt my seatbelt and my guardian angel saved me from harm . Glad he recovered and is doing better . Love your videos

@@tiredoldmechanic1791 Personally I got the bad habit because of working as a mechanic. I used to instinctively put it on before starting up but I kept putting my seatbelt on to drive 30 feet into the shop. I broke that habit but now I don't notice when I am not wearing it

Thomas Gallant During my 30+ years on the fire department along with being an EMT I’ve had only one patient die while wearing a seat belt, the driver took a curve to fast and the car t-boned a massive tree on the drivers side, most likely killing him instantly. Sad day for all involved.

25:00 Never apologize or try to hide getting choked up, Ron. You've got 10,000 people watching with you that are all choked up too, even though by now we know the driver survived, I still could not imagine what that poor guy OR his family went through . . . Not quite true... They have to ask at least 3 questions: Where are we going? How fast do you need us to get there? Which of our Trucks do you need us to bring (Rotator, Vulcan, Rollback, Traffic Control Truck, ATV, some combination of all of the above)?
@Dust76tr
@Dust76tr 4 жыл бұрын
A Wilson technically they don’t ask the second question. If they need to expedite, they’re told by police dispatch to expedite. Ron has very little say in the matter. From what I can tell, they seem to decide which truck to send themselves, unless requested otherwise by the customer. And lastly, they’d get told where to go, rather than having to ask, so actually, yes, ‘we don’t ask questions, we just go’ is spot on 👍

Scary thinking back about it now. But that was the good ole days. When there wasn’t such a thing as BS that’s flooded society today. It’s sad. Ron,while I was in the Army we were taught two things about that kind of recovery.First pulling uphill like that,estimate the weight as double the disabled vehicle flat ground weight.For pulling with the winch the snatch block estimate of pull is approximately double,but then subtract 10% for friction losses in the snatch block.Saved a lot of head sctatching using those figures.

Don't forget the back seat passenger should be belted in as well!! If not you have a large heavy object flying at you in the front. I once saw a old Morris pickup that had hit a bridge abutment at speed. In the back was a half (Impriael) ton roll of roofing lead, loose. Truck stopped it didn't. At this point Remember!!! Don't be sick on the evidence!.

Nice work. Good to see yours busy out there during these times. We’re constantly taking calls for the Atlanta police department. Your videos inspired me to start recording my daily calls while I’m on the road. I’m a tow truck driver as well so I know how it is to work in all conditions. Stay safe out there brother.

Scott Gee it’s always some action going on. Especially during this quarantine. I started my channel to give the world a first hand look into the world I love. Feel free to check out some stolen recoveries or accident call videos on my page. Be sure to leave feedback.
