I want to go back to when the Sims wasn't bogged down by microtransactions and expansion packs were fun new concepts with tons of new stuff that child me would spend hours cataloguing, not just lazy cash grabs that do the bare minimum😔

The first Sims game had 8 expansion packs. The Sims 2 had 8 expansion packs + 10 stuff packs. The sims 3 had 11 expansion packs + 9 stuff packs. That's about 49 discs to buy. The sims 4 has, so far as august 2022, 12 expansion packs +12 game packs + 18 stuff packs + 13 kits + 1 free celebration pack, for a total of 57 codes to buy (and still going). It is insane.

​@@anne-mariejean3638 TS4 may be bad, but the amount of sims 3 store content that needs to be bought with sim points (1000 points is 10$) it's the worst by far as you can't even use your currency, it has to be "converted" to this fake currency, and you can't even get free points anymore. it's not lootboxes, but things are wildly priced wrong and makes it feel like it's a rip-off (5$ for a deep-fryer if you get it separately) and midnight hollow is 24$ dollars for standard and 34$ for gold (may even be different based on the region)

Sometimes, I drink a little and reminisce on the old days. Playing these games all damn night. After school, after chores, after seeing my old buddies, the Sims was what I always really looked forward to. It's a little depressing that these days are long gone and done, but I'm so glad I got to enjoy them.
