I honestly believe Frank Sheeran. From what i've read and watched, he doesn't seem like the type to spin up a random story about killing his own friend.... He was also a known hitman for the Mafia and it was fact that Hoffa was involved with the mafia. Sheeran's own daughter was close to Hoffa and stopped speaking to him after Hoffa's disappearance (all true). His story makes the most sense.

I said no and that I had to get home right away and the dude opened my passenger door and got in and his girlfriend got in the back seat. He said "Come on man it's just 2 blocks." and I remembered that bit from Mulaney. I pulled in front of the front door of the gas station and told them "Get out!" Luckily it worked. Probably because they were worried about the gas station cameras. Well, apparently, I was right to be worried because I told the gas station owner about it 4 weeks later and he told me he got robbed while he was refilling his coffee machine.

So fun fact: my mom's boss lives about an hour north of detroit. Years ago when she was getting some landscaping done the landscapers found a car literally BURIED in her backyard with a full skeleton in it. Never heard what happened after that, but who knows?? Maybe it was hoffa...

Update: so I guess my mom's boss never did anything about it and just LEFT IT THERE and they never actually pulled it out of the ground or anything?? Like honestly how do you just leave something like that there, in your BACKYARD??? But actually the most popular idea regarding where Hoffa is in the metro detroit area is that he's buried somewhere in the ren cen in detroit, like somewhere in the foundation of the building.

I don't think anyone cares at this point, especially since this episode is pretty old and The Irishman has been out for a while, but my family are all South Philly Italians (they practically roofed half of the Philly area) and my "uncle" was a union boss in Philly (and definitely had connections to the Teamsters). He actually knew Frank Sheeran and had dinner with him several times. In casual conversation, he called the Irishman "pretty accurate" and has spoken a few times of Jimmy Hoffa "getting what was coming to him". He apparently was removed enough from the situation though that he does not know the details. Unfortunately he is too old and unwell to really tell stories to me about it now, but I wish I could ask him about the case, it's honestly fascinating to have this kind of minor connection.

Caitlin, there's just one problem with that movie. They wrote a lot of misinformation into the script. I remember back here in Detroit when Hoffa came up missing. The place I worked at was well connected, so we all at work heard a lot of information that the media wasn't talking about & probably wouldn't talk about. At least on camera to the general public.....

I know this gonna get like zero attention, but it’s fun to take a shot. In Cary, NC. There’s a whole neighborhood that just up and left one night with no explanation. Just a whole neighborhood gone, no one who lived in the neighborhood will say why they left, construction moved in pretty soon after to build a new wing of a hospital. But locals aren’t completely convinced that the government just paid them to leave. That and NC is super duper haunted in general, so take that as you will. I think it’s a neat little mystery
