Being from England I often forget how lucky I am! I used to work in a castle built in 1068 and after a while it just became the norm. I'd love to see some videos from you guys in America and show us cool stuff from your country. I'm always in mainland Europe so I would like to see the other side of the Atlantic!

We definitely hope to document some travels around our own country in the near future. We've probably explored more of Europe than we have the U.S. at this point.

As somebody who can see Edinburgh Castle from my living room window you do take it for granted as you say. But sometimes, when say you've gone to take your 12yr old to have a Grimace shake at the McD's opposite the castle, you suddenly catch it in a different light or weather and it's new again for a moment.

1) The fact that you can see Edinburgh Castle from your living room window makes us very, VERY jealous. And 2) The fact that you can get a Grimace shake when (to our knowledge) it hasn't returned to the U.S. yet makes us EQUALLY jealous.

Wow. This keeps on giving! Genuine question. How was reverse culture shock when you got back to the US?

Not nearly as extreme as we expected, which surprised us. We felt a bit "out of place" at the airport when we first landed, but after a few days we were pretty much acclimated. It's likely us still being on the move throughout all of February played a part, though. Rather than going back to where we used to live and diving straight back into our previous life, we had an apartment in a new state we had to wait a month to move into, so we spent a week with my (Brian's) family, drove west, spent a week with Lauryn's family, drove west some more, spent a week with my sister in the city we lived in before the trip, then drove even farther west to our new home state and spent a few days with more of Lauryn's family before finally getting our stuff out of storage and moving into the apartment. This didn't really give us a chance to settle after arriving back in the U.S., which in turn distracted us from spending too much time reflecting on the differences between here and Europe. It almost felt like an extension of the trip, since we were still living out of our backpacks and moving from place to place.

Naples is an incredible city! People will tell you it isn't, and it can be quite intimidating at first, but it has so much character and the BEST pizzas in the world!

Yeah, the Chapel guards got very angry at a tourist trying to photograph when I was there! Crammed in as we were

Same here. Witnessed several incidents of them telling people "no photographs." Which means TECHNICALLY, if someone really wanted to, they could snap a photo or video and all they'd get is a verbal warning. A bit of a shame the main attraction of that entire experience has such a strict policy when every other inch of the place is open to be photographed, but oh well. 🤷
