What good is any of that when you have a target on your back 24/7, knowing that basically every decision you make is going to royally piss off at least one person who may just decide to kill you over it. Plus you're THE top target for the government who are constantly watching your every move, just waiting for the right moment to send you to jail forever. And when you're caught and in prison and desperate, the people who were your friends squeeze you for every penny and leave your family basically destitute. Yeah great life, totally worth it for a house in Jersey and a Maserati.

@Steve Turowski The older I get, the more I realize that Tony, despite his charm and redeeming qualities, was just a selfish, abusive prick. Mostly. He was something of a voice of reason in that crowd, he loved his family and had some standards. Still a menace, and his parents' child.

@@kellijones6481 He's an anti-villain, the opposite of an anti-hero. He's a villain with good traits here and there (love for animals). Definately not a hero but not a full fledged villain either (like Micheal Myers for example).

@Ustaleone That just makes him more realistic. Hitler had a love for animals too. I can't think of any person in history who is pure evil across the board.
@Ustaleone
@Ustaleone 7 ай бұрын
@@Deere55 well that's true because real life differs from fiction as it is, well, real life. People are not so easily defined and you've probably heard the phrase ''people are grey characters''. We are all different shades of grey (no 50 shades of gray pun intended). Some of us are more towards the white side of grey and others more towards the black side. But nu human is truly white or black. So yeah, unlike some villains and/or heroes because well, the writer can just make them as perfect (ly white or black) as they want them to be. And of course Tony Soprano is fictional, so he could have been a purely black/evil character, but this is not that kind of show and all the characters are created by David Chase to be 'realistic' and I think he succeeded in that pretty great.
