I _think_ that is the only time he is shown wearing a track suit throughout the entire series bc afterwards we always see him in a suit.

From his house phone. Smart. In "All Due Respect" Tony calls John while he's at home and doesn't speak when John answers and hangs up, John's wearing a brown horizontally striped track suit. I think the track suits they wore in the show are pretty classy looking, definitely "clean" looking. They don't look like slobs and they can't wear suits 24/7.
