Probably not. Gloria showed up at the wrong time on purpose. Just like she slashed her own tires. She was INSANE. Melfi even denies booking them together. Somehow Gloria must have known about Melfi having a powerful businessman patient as she sees them all the time buying Mercedes. She knows the type. And Gloria knows that Tony is in the mafia well before he hints that his job is dangerous. She's looking for him to murder her. She was a moth to a flame. Suicide by cop. She was looking to get Tony to beat her to death. Hence the deliberate contacting of his wife and constant sabotaging of the relationship. Melfi almost outright tells Tony that Gloria played him outright to goad him into killing her.

I kind of doubt that. Gloria was trying to commit "suicide by mob" with Tony. She was self-destructive. If that relationship weren't with Tony, it would have been some other guy she either baited to kill her or killed herself because the relationship ended. Tony is a scumbag and certainly didn't help Gloria's fragile mind, but I think she would have killed herself regardless if she never met Tony.

Then threatens to go to Meadow's college and talk about how she and her father have sex in hotel rooms and on his boat. She was looking for every excuse for misery and disorder.

5 year old comment but here's the answer. Gloria shows up at the wrong time on purpose because she has a borderline personality disorder. She shows up during someone's appointment just to make conflict for everyone around her. Just to be disruptive and see what will happen from the chaos. It is implied that Gloria also slashed her own tires to see what Tony's reaction would be. Tony informs her that he hit his girlfriend once. Planting the seed for Gloria to try to get Tony to become violent with her, knowing that Tony will get physical with women. Some people think that Gloria was not even talking with someone on the phone. That she set the entire thing up. Showed up dressed like that. Spread her legs. And lured Tony in hoping he would kill her or worse case scenario she ends up being the mistress of mob boss. She knows it is Tony's time for his appointment. Melfi knows she did not book them together and knows that Gloria is a huge liar. But unlike Tony who is a MASTER manipulator, Gloria's lies are easy to spot by Melfi.
