I agree with your take. Heck my take on this: Raimis Spider-Man Trilogy was just a caricature, nothing about it felt real (except for some parts in SM2) and especially SM3 was just cramped with content, with no room to breath. Webb's Spider-Man movies depicted a more real Peter Parker (one whose powers got into his head right from the getgo- suddenly bullying his bully and all), but this was also cramped with content and barely room to breath, especially in TASM2. Watt's Spider-Man (or the "MCU Spider-Man", considering he was in more than just Jon Watts movies) is shallow, seemed too friendly and only had one moment that showed him struggling with "being a hero" in a way that is human, not just a "job-problem". That was in No Way Home when Spidey had to remind Spidey that being hateful is a nono. #spiderthings The movies scratched the surface of a lot of potential moments, partly tried to implement it into the movies. I would even say SM2 and TASM did it the best, but even in those movies, the story could not stand still. Heck, movies are to tv-shows what YT-shorts are to regular YT videos. Atleast that's my modern analogy here. It can scratch on every topic, but doesn't give enough time to actually dwelve in it.

I’ve thought this for quite a while now. It would be (no pun intended) so amazing to get a Spider-Man show that delve deeper into the character than two hour movies can. I agree spider-man is great for movies, but spectacular spider-man proves you can get better and deeper stories through shows. Spider-man has way too much history and great stories to tell without having to rush or skip them because of a run time. Cobra kai for example does amazing action, had great drama and builds up a story with out it having to feel rush where karate kid has to stick to a run time. Some superheroes deserves more time to be on TV like the flash where yes the show has its up and down but you fell in love with grants performance as barry allen and love the relationship he's built throughout the show and it didn't extremely rush villians some had good stories to tell. Where as the movie didn't give us time with that flash we only got a glimpse of his everyday life whereas the show Flash gave us what barry allen does on a daily basis

A big problem is that no one cares anymore about the loser Peter Parker whose life is already so over-the-top so bad that it's already a cruel joke, and who still thinks like a 15-year-old despite being over 30. It is true that the character has flaws, but it is human to overcome those flaws and improve.

Steve Ditko’s intent was for Peter to start out as a teenage hero who, even though he referred to himself as Spider-Man was actually still a boy mentally. Over time, with life experiences such as finishing high school and going to college-alongside fighting villains like Green Goblin-he would grow into being an adult hero. This is evidenced by how lanky and skinny Ditko drew him in early issues but by the time he leaves the book, Spider-Man is far more muscular and less lean.

Here’s my ultimate idea for a Spider-Man reboot in the MCU: First, give Tom Holland’s Peter Parker one or two more films that wrap up his story in a big way. These movies could show him facing his greatest challenge yet-something that either forces him to retire, make a huge sacrifice, or pass the torch. In the end, Peter hands over the mantle to Miles Morales, officially making him the new Spider-Man and opening the door for a fresh story. After that, we’d kick off a live-action Spider-Man series on Disney+, called The Amazing Spider-Man or Spectacular Spider-Man, set during Peter’s high school years. This show would be like a mix of Smallville and Arrow but with all the heart, humor, and stakes that make Spider-Man iconic. It would dive into Peter’s life as he navigates the challenges of being a young superhero while also dealing with high school, relationships, and family. The show could really capture that “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” feel, mixed with serious, high-stakes conflicts. For the villains, we’d focus on characters who haven’t been seen in live action yet-like Chameleon, Mister Negative, Tombstone, Black Tarantula, and Jackal. Each season could explore a new villain or villain team, creating fresh challenges for Peter while giving fans new faces and stories. This would keep the show exciting and keep the focus on Peter’s lesser-known rogue gallery, highlighting his life as a young hero who’s growing into his powers and responsibilities. This format would let the series explore iconic comic storylines that we haven’t seen on-screen yet, with room to really flesh out Peter’s character. Imagine Peter grappling with moral choices, facing betrayal, or dealing with a villain who knows his identity. The stakes would feel personal, as he’d have to balance being a kid and a hero in a way we haven’t fully seen before. Meanwhile, Miles Morales could star in his own film series, taking on the larger, MCU-level threats while Peter’s story focuses on neighborhood-scale issues. This way, we’d get both the classic Peter Parker experience and a new, modern take with Miles, with both Spider-Men representing different aspects of the role. This reboot would give us a deeper connection to Peter Parker’s story, more time with Spider-Man’s unique villains, and a perfect way to bring both Peter and Miles into the MCU. It’d keep things fresh, exciting, and full of that classic Spidey heart!

I think this is something Marvel would have loved to have done if they had access to the character sooner. They had to jump the character ahead to play catch-up because they really wanted him in Civil War. I really wanted the animated show to tie into the MCU. It would have been really nice to see what's up with the character outside of the films and allow us to see him interact with more characters, to build his own world separate from the movies. He has so many interesting villains that we will never get to see, and Marvel has full freedom to do whatever they want with any of the characters in television. This is what I originally thought the show was going to be.

The problem I have with this argument that Spider-Man Does Not Need To Be For Everyone is that the whole character was made to be for everyone. A live action prestige format Spider-Man TV series that really dives deep into the character of Peter Parker could be absolutely amazing. Too bad the Spider-Man movies are just way too profitable for Sony, Marvel and Disney to allow that to happen. The same thing could easily be said for Batman. WB and Sony/Marvel won’t make a live action Batman or Spider-Man series because “casual audiences will be confused” because they’ll think the show and the movie are connected.

I think an animated show that was for teens to adults is long overdue. That would be the cheapest way to bring about the kind of quality you're looking for. Unfortunately we have Spidey and his Amazing Friends and if they do another cartoon for people over the age of 5, it would look like Steven Universe or kiddie Rick and Morty. Disney and Sony don't know what they're doing. To the fans, it's pretty obvious what would work. TASM3, SM4, and a grounded college trilogy that doesn't soullessly pretend to be an 80s teen comedy. And then cartoons or live action shows that can handle the quiet moments, the deeper moments, with more time to develop them. But we're talking Disney and Sony... good ideas are few and far between now.

You get it. Great video. Don't think we will get this with Tom's Peter. My wish Andrew does the tv series. In reality I can see this for Miles with the actor who played Vic in The Penguin.

This video captures every issues I have with cringey Tom Holland's Spiderman.I have been longing for a more realistic Spiderman movie or show on the level of Batman media. Not this cringey and annoying version of Spiderman in the MCU.It's sad that we wouldn't get that.

No. If you are gonna make a spider person tv show use a character that is NOT Peter Parker. Someone who wouldn't get the budget for big budget movie: Flash Thompson war veteran story, Ben Reilly ( is a clone, a real person dynamic), Silk ( a tortured and caged individual), 2099 futuristic storyline expand the world that way Peter Parker is still prime billion dollar franchise while still expanding. Let's see how Noir Prime show does see if it's good enough to open doors

You know how amazing it would be to see Peter having to deal with mature decisions. Like how the kids in Cobra kai were drinking when they weren't supposed to, but Peter chooses to drink one night and it backfires HEAVY! Spidey senses acting up, drunken web swinging, drunken fighting but he accidently punches a guy too hard. The FIELD DAY J. Jonah Jameson would HAVE on reporting a drunk smash-faced spider-man and how that'd taint his image in new York!!!!

Yea I agree esp when we talk about Peter early on as Spider-Man and not used to the idea of how his life as Peter Parker changes and is restricted bc hes Spider-Man

@@TheWolfsEye exactly!!! Everyone knows the famous "with great power comes. . ." yadda yadda, but nobody every points out just how "GREAT" that responsibility actually is outside of "somebody could get seriously hurt or die if I neglect them because of school/work/etc." Spidey doesn't get the get out of jail free options for not being a "Boy Scout" like captain America or even Superman gets by choice. There are a ton of superheroes in NY but for some reason the only one seen and getting constant coverage is spider-man. More than Luke Cage, Daredevil, iron fist, (Jessica Jones, Punisher, cloak & dagger and misty night is dependent on iteration) the majority of the Avengers seeing their tower is there. . . Only person I really cut slack for for an extent is doctor strange since his responsibilities branch beyond the confines of New York, even though there should be way more wizards around the world and universe able to take charge while the sorcerer supreme isn't there. Spider-man is literally the hero that does it when he doesn't have to or shouldn't have to, but it's like. . . How nitpicky does it get? I doubt the death of uncle Ben INSTANTLY turned Peter into a boy scout over night.

While I think it’s possible to make a great Spider-Man show (a show better than the films we’ve gotten even), I don’t think a TV format is inherently better for Spidey than a movie format. At the end of the day, all that matters is the quality of the writing & of the production value; show or film regardless. Ideally, I’d like to see a concrete Spider-Man trilogy of films that actually take their time in developing Peter, his friends, his personal & financial struggles, and the villains he faces; starts in high school, then college, and lastly his early adulthood, that’s what I’d want 🤷🏾♂️

If Sony and marvel won’t do a live action show, (because if the movie money) maybe someone else will find a way to do it.

2:04 - IMO it had too much room to breath, so much in fact that it did a lot of breathing and not a lot of everything else. It had some of the worst TV tropes that really bloated the show for no reason.
