This is without doubt the hardest video I have ever made. It's a story I have tried to tell but just couldn't complete and one that so many of you have asked me to tell.
So here it is - this is the story of Bailey.

Brought tears to my eyes for 2 reasons. First for Bailey, no dog or animal should have to suffer like that, good on you Mucker for the support you gave, to give Bailey a chance to be loved again, and enjoy the last year of his time here. Having lost my German Shepheard 2 months ago I know how hard this is for you even now. he was a rescue, never abused but loved, at 14 months they could not exercise him enough, so rehomed him, we had lost ours and fell in love with him. He spent 11 years at work with me in gardens (one 9acres) he was a clown, loving and so gentle with young kids, tennis ball mad, my customers loved him, even allowed him indoors. he too has left a large hole in my life. Keep up your great work for the collies.

Kurt , I think I may know why you have a hard time talking about Bailey, it is because you have a big heart of gold towards dogs or any animal . As you were speaking of him , you brought tears to my eyes as I could feel the pain and anguish you were feeling. I have a soft spot for animals as well. Keep up the good work you are doing sir!

Right then Mucker. This video popped up 1 year later so I watched it again. I couldn't comment then because I had lost my boy to a brain tumour not long before this video & it brought it all back to me. Watching again tonight was a little easier, but still vivid in my mind. We are lucky to be blessed with that one dog which for me it was my boy Lou the Newfie. The video about Bailey was what made me join the Patreon page because of your genuine love of the dogs & their care. Keep doing the best for these dogs knowing that you are making their life a little better. Heartfelt thanks for sharing this with us.

Mucker A Dog is not just a dog each and everyone of them have their own caricature that sets them apart. all of our dogs that we have lost are immortalised in art that we hang proudly on our farm walls. big up to you for what you're doing for the collies. stay strong my friend.

@@LordMuck a year as well though against literally all the odds, testament to he’s character, a proper little fighter. You say about the microchip, before I worked in trading standards I was a dog warden? The microchips threw up all kinds of weird addresses! Craziness.

i to have a bailey mucker he’s a golden retriever we lost his sister at Christmas age 13 she lay down under an olive tree in the garden her legs just couldn’t go anymore . He never leaves my side now and everyday he looks at the tree to see if she’s back . He gets very tired now but still enjoying going for a walk in the bush i make the most of every day with him now as time is passing by have watched most of your videos and enjoy very much cut my teeth on a dexter when about 12 years old rolling fields after sewing how the machines have changed in the last 50 years keep up the good work and greetings from Perth Australia

You had me all choked up about the story of Bailey, I've had a few collies, my last one was called Drift who passed away in 2014 of old age suddenly, I swore I would never have another dog because it was too heartbreaking losing Drift but two years ago nearly a big dog needed a loving home after being rescued from Turkey, Her name is Darcy and she is an Anatolian Kangal, a Turkish sheepdog

The irony is that my collie came to me for a hug and cuddle while I was watching this. My dog much like your dog there just wanted to comfort us. I know how difficult it can be to talk about some things that have had a profound affect in our lives. God bless you.

Well this was obviously hard for you to do and as dog lovers we felt your pain. Bailey was an incredible boy and thanks to you and Linda and Caroline his last year was happy and content. Everyone considering owning a dog should watch this. They depend on us and trust us to take care of them. We watch you for the tractors the lorries etc. and all the laughs along the way, but this one was very special. Thank you so very much for everything you do for all of those wonderful dogs. So sorry to hear of your loss which left a hole very hard to fill, bailey was a sweet looking collie with a big black patch over one eye a cheery smile and soft fur to tousle and stroke, the sort you cuddle the life out of when life throws you a curve ball. A few years ago my middle brother lost a cat he loved to bits, nothing special a tortoishell that looked like a pile of pooh . Her kidneys were failing so my middle brother had no option but drive her to the vets one last time. After she passed away he shut down, could not face life without his close friend of nearly twenty years, a fantastic age for a tortoishell cat sometimes very vocal as if she were trying to talk with my middle brother .So know what it is like to lose a furry friend of several years, a dark hole opens up, but had to get on with life, . Doing the video you barely held together for I wanted to dive through the computer screen and give you a suffocating hug, a big burly bloke that likes old Ford tractors and AEC Matadors ,because you care a quality extremely rare these trying times. Oh yes, the furry friend I loved a long haired Chihuahua, yes cackle cackle titter titter.

I won’t lie there were parts of this video I had a lump in my throat, and parts where rage took over towards the idiots who caused so much suffering. But in the end I’m so glad there were people of kindness there, to enable him to experience love and comfort for his last year. RIP Bailey

Mt friend died earlier this year. He had collies for as long as I knew him and they always seemed to like me. Sitting in a comfy chair with a glass and a dog half lying on you with his nose in your armpit -strange but there you are - and then going home unable to breathe properly because of allergy, but you can't turn a friend away because of that. I understand what you mean.

Lovely story of Bailey mucker, was choking me up there fella. Reminds me of a collie called Kim we had as a child. He used to walk me to primary school every morning and pop into my auntie’s on his way back home for his breakfast. I was heartbroken when he passed 😢.

Then one morning I came downstairs and I saw him sitting in his dog bed looking at me . I blinked and he was gone but I felt everything was all right. Sounds crazy I know but It happened .
