This is pretty common of alot of couples who work very hard separately.. especially in this era. Even my parents in the 2000s. But disconnection can only lead to dysfunction and a mismatch of expectations and fights to be the alpha.

Proof is in the pudding, homeless people are predominantly males. It is the responsibility of the females to bring up children and provide for them. It doesn't always turn out this way. There are a few females out there who will destroy their mates. So men be careful who you are with.😱

I always believe that a person will punish himself for what he's done, in ways no other man can. There is no need for you to punish anyone as you would a child, to whom you're trying to teach better habits. If anything, i have learnt that there must be a bottom line and boundary for where you cannot transgress, in order for you and someone else to be safe, mentally and physically. The best revenge there is, is to live well and treat yourself better than someone who's mistreated you, ever would. Betty's anger is justified, but she would have done alot better for herself taking his ailmony and making things up to her children, and giving herself a chance to live a new life she loved.. she never did love her life while she was married to him in any case.

Do I hear anyone say anything about Betty supporting Dan for years and years, waited home for him on a regular basis only to get her husband's affair smacked in the face. And later getting "fined" by Dan for her swear words .... Losing the children, losing basically everything and then being committed to a psychiatric institution and then hearing her ex proposing to Linda publicly in an upscale restaurant. She went too far, yes, but I don't know if stand the same "treatment"

She didn't lose the children , she gave them up herself. She left them all so-to-speak to teach him a lesson, hoping he would beg her to come back and help him out. But she completely misread the man. Until then she should already know better she'd been married to a successful lawyer who-firstly-could afford hiring a nanny if needed, and-secondly-didn't have to spend a penny while taking charge of his own legal battle against her. She became more and more delusional, and completely out of control of herself, let alone others.

It's a pity nobody gave Betty any help. It's clear that she's been suffering mentally & emotionally because of what her ex-husband made her experience since they got married. He treated her like nobody since they married. I dont agree or support her killing her ex and his new wife, but I dont blame her for reaching to that point. I just wish she'll be sent to be treated with what she's experiencing now. It's either she's suffering from depression or any mental or emotional turmoil she's been going thru.

When you help a husband to get a degree, after he becomes successful, wins good money, other women look at him and invite him! Men always like younger women even they have a lot of children in the marriage. Males are always this way! Happened to my sister. They were young. She was with their 2 small children, but him evenings getting a degree. When children grew up 10-13, she found out he did have a mistress, besides good job and very respected! Then pregnant mistress and a divorce. The mistress was about 16 -17 years younger than him and also his coworker. My sister gave the divorce and went to work in Italy. In the time the mistress was mean to him when he used to get drunk. After having 2 children with her, he passed way of stroke, still very young 57 yo!

The re-enactments in these documentaries are so very well done and very convincing and effective . This whole story conjures up the made for TV that was made in very early 90s of this event that starred Meredith Baxter as Betty and Stephen Collins as Dan. “ A Woman Scorned:The Betty Broderick Story. Betty was obsessed with getting revenge on Dan and Linda . She was way out of line and so wrong she paid the price when she was convicted and sentenced. Thanks for this excellent look back at the case.👌😊

I divorced 30 years ago, my ex is now dead due to illness not because anyone killed him, but I am still angry if I think of it, because I gave him the best years of my life, only to be abused, lied and cheated on, parole board says she is still angry, of course she is, he abused her and she is full of scars, they never go away. when it keeps on going on for years you are frustrated and at a certain point you just can't take it anymore, everyone has so much rope you can pull, at a certain point it just snaps. without her sacrifices he would never of been successful. He owed it all to her.

So terrible that Americans are still, so many decades later, talking about soccer moms and these 1950s ideals. In northern Europe, where I live, women want careers having nurseries, kindergartens and after school facilities or a husband that works less taking care of the kids till they come home

I can’t understand why Betty treated her children like pawns. The trauma she put the children through; with her malicious actions she still shows no empathy. I read somewhere that Linda's family wouldn't bury her next to Dan. Only her name's on the stone. She's buried close to where her parent's lived in Utah. Her mom died at 39 yrs. old. I'm sure it affected her view on life. Her dad remarried a year later.

A story like so many others. To support a man in this way - I'd never had done so. And I for sure not had children with that guy. If you think his studies take too long, just walk out! This way (without marriage, without children) you are free and can do with your life whatever you want! I think in the US people just still are hopelessly oldfashioned! They marry too quickly and too young.

Well even in such a situation I don't think women are cruel enough to not let the kids spend time with their father in Betty's case Dan had negotiated Betty have them during alternate holidays and weekends and would suddenly change his mind and not have the kids meet her ,I mean being married for 20 years taking care of the family and kids and to have all that snatched away and have rules followed to see her own children would drive anyone crazy ,I mean it would have been hard to watch the man you were with for 20 years to find someone younger move on and the kids to also kind of side with the dad

Can't help but feel there is a degree of hypocrisy around the attitude and framing of cases like this one, Clara Harris and Lorena Bobbitt when compared to the outrage towards OJ and other men who resort to homicide where infidelity is an extenuating circumstance. I'm not without sympathy for this woman, however, it seems there is far less empathy when a perpetrator is a betrayed male to the point that even suggesting the victim's conduct may have contributed to the his precipitating mental state is shouted down as victim blaming.

Even if he was being manipulative, he had valid reasons for keeping their children away from him. She had shown that she had no ability to control herself, and was verbally abusive and physically damaged items even though she didn't hit her children... being mentally unstable meant that a person could transfer her wrath to new victims in a flick. You probably haven't seen for yourself how harried women under stress have the tendency to go overboard when they disconnect from reality. I am a girl, and I'm speaking from experience seeing my own mother snap to become someone else in her despair and desperation and not realise it.
