Personally, it's because of the thing you just mentioned. It's too similar to what they have already done, and they haven't really added anything to it. It's the same reason why I'm not enjoying the new RHCP tracks. Sure the old Strokes/RHCP songs will be classics and I will always love them, but that's because it was fresh at the time. They all are burnt into my head and have great memories attached to them. Now that there's so much new interesting music from fresh artists, these new albums from older bands just aren't really doing it for me. Also, it just doesn't have the same catchiness to it as many of the older Strokes tracks. They are in no way bad songs, they just aren't that exciting to me. That's just my personal opinion though.
@katjerouac
@katjerouac 8 жыл бұрын
+Caleb Finegan does that mean you still like "Drag Queen" and "Oblivious"? because this track in particular doesn't excite me either. And btw, have you taken a look at The Audiots?
@calebfinegan8067
@calebfinegan8067 8 жыл бұрын
OBLIVIUS is probably my favourite track of the EP, but it's still not as good as old Strokes imo. Maybe the EP will grow on me, only time will tell. I just checked out The Audiots and "Wait and See" is actually really good. Already to me a better song than any on the new EP. Thanks for the recommendation!

Julian Casablancas always looks like he knows some big secret that he wants to tell but he can't so he leaves obvious clues for the general public to figure out but we don't so he gets frustrated and stops making music for a while.

All the people who say The Strokes make the same music are those who just heard "Someday," "Reptilia," "You Only Live Once," and probably "Undercover of Darkness" (NOT THAT THESE SONGS SOUND THE SAME BUT I CAN SEE THAT PEOPLE CAN HEAR A SIMILAR SOUND). People who have an appreciation of this band actually go out and follow the rest of the band's solo works. I love all of them and I thank you for bring this idea out to the rest of the comments

I love this song. It's probably my second favorite. Just because of the amazing melody and how this feels like they're closing the door on the past. For the first time they're getting themselves right so they don't repeat all the mistakes they made. I think context makes this song even better to palette.

Like, ok, I maybe a crazy fangirl and my vision can be distorted because of that fact, but I mean, just because the guy doesn't have the best weight distribution and most of his fat goes to his face and neck area doesn't make him like obese or smth. Well, anyway, Jules still hot and talented af
