This video was my first introduction to the concept of an ARG. I had been going down the rabbit hole of KZbin and saw a video about the top train crashes in movies. One of the scenes was the train crash scene in Super 8 and I hadn’t seen/heard of the movie before so I immediately looked it up, also on KZbin. I scrolled a few times before seeing this videos thumbnail. The rest is history.

I find it funny that JJ’s original products (and some unoriginal) are all connecting through his ARG’s and Easter eggs. The fact that Lost has connections to Cloverfield and that Fringe is already about traveling inner-dimensionally like Paradox, makes things extremely interesting. I would also like to point out that just because J J Abrams could connect the Super 8 universe to the Cloverfield multiverse does not automatically mean that Super 8 is a movie in the Cloverfield multiverse. I think it is worth pointing out that we do not see any evidence of the Cloverfield Station’s explosion in Super 8. There was no object randomly falling from the sky, nor was there a red flash or a character talking about a red flash. There was just the creature and his spaceship.

Okay, while I was watching the movie again, I noticed something that could place Super 8 in the Cloverfield multiverse. On the wall of the gas station in the scene where the alien captures the sheriff, there is an advertisement for Slusho. If there is Slusho in the Super 8 universe, along with the possibility of Slusho’s nefarious parent company, Tagruato, it is entirely possible and maybe even likely that this universe is part of the Cloverfield multiverse.
