AMAZING video as always @ZoomZike i love your compendium/bestiary lists almost as much as i love identifying luck. they're a staple in my downloaded videos list that i go to whenever i need something chill to put on in the background. i'm so glad to have a new one. by the way, i'd love to see you start streaming again if that's an option for you. i really miss the good old days of watching you destroy your gf at mario party 3. it would make me happy to see you playing something like paper mario master quest, or ttyd hero mode once that comes out, or any of the various old nintendo games / rom hacks live on stream.

One reason trophies in Melee are so magical: in some cases, it was the first time ever locations, characters, etc. were portrayed with higher-poly models. Before this, most were either sprites, concept art, or very blocky N64-era models. These were some of the earliest attempts at turning the 3D model renders from promo material and artwork into real in-game models.

The Motion-Sensor Bomb in the JP version is the Proximity Mine from Perfect Dark instead of the one from Goldeneye. The Cloaking Device is also from Perfect Dark. This means that we had a Rare franchise represented in Smash Bros long before Banjo Kazooie, but it was taken out by Brawl, likely due to Microsoft buying the company.

I just got every trophy finally from getting Pikmin 1 last year. The trophies in melee are so charming and fun. So many are such obscure things and most of them are original designs aside from taking an already existing source.

I love this encyclopedia of information it’s so fun to listen to. For my Mario party concept one of my favorite boards I made concepts for is buddy bonanza where you go through the jungle with dk and diddy, working in teams of two where everything including the board events require you to work together to win.

2:55 so... that's a strange bit of lore there. Past the original super mario bros where princess peace (toadstool) was kidnapped to prevent her from curing the residents of the mushroom kingdom from being turned into brick blocks, Bowser was kidnapping Peach to lure Mario to his doom...thus the affection to Peach must have come afterward. I wonder which game that Bowser fell in love with Peach?

This Melee Trophy Compendium Movie was very fun to watch and is very educational for the younger generation! I’ve been playing this game for many years and always wondered why there was never a full on Diddy Kong and Wolf Trophy since they got to be playable in the next game. Also fun fact if you set the game to Japanese and read the origin games for certain trophies, new games show up like for example, the Starman (Earthbound) Trophy also lists Mother 1 as another game it appears in. Hoping for a Brawl Trophy Compendium Movie take all the time you need ZoomZike!

"Wario: An old acquaintance of Mario's." I find Nintendo's choice of words here really odd. I wouldn't use the word acquaintance to describe someone who steals my stuff and acts as my rival. Sure, the definition technically only means that you know them, but nobody uses it to describe their enemy. So... were they on good terms before? Was there a time when Mario knew Wario before some disagreement broke out and Wario stole Mario's castle? I need an answer, Nintendo!!
