It's not finished until the asset editor is finished. Doesn't matter how "good" anything else is. The asset editor was supposed to be part of the game, it still isn't. Not coming back until it is. Vanilla content is lame. It's STILL not competitive with CS1 in that respect.

This always comes up with Minecraft updates and the mob votes. Because you get the community picking one of three things you are always gonna have a large amount of people mad they didn't get what they thought was best. I've always thought this was the way to go. Just release the update you have, don't overpromise, don't wind people up with ideas of what could've been, just do the update. While the whole economy update was happening, i was thinking 'Ok, they're focused on the game logic and progression, but not everyone at a game dev studio does everything, what are their 3d modelers, etc doing??' I think the crossing behind the stairs of the subway station is intentional. The station close to my house looks like that. You don't want the stairs to be blocked by a crowd, waiting for a green light, so if the pavement under the platform is narrow, you either place the crossing further away or behind the stairs.

@Ter9393 The way they launched the game was definitely bad, but in my opinion, it’s really the publisher's job to make sure the game is ready for release before they release it. i think this was desperately needed for the economy 2.0 update. it really has you min-maxing your services which i think is quite great as it forces you to think and plan ahead. but that was very difficult since especially healthcare is insanely pricey early-game and the service budgets dont scale the building's efficiency linearly so actually having smaller and cheaper options is a godsend! I really hope they add a ui element to show employees too in the future, they're the biggest expense most of the time and there's no way to know that right now (apart from just knowing how many employees any given building requires!)

Cities Skylines is back! All of these look so good, I hope we get more of these goody drops in the future

This is actually making me want to get back into the game. I love the ability to extend the surfaces out and fill in the awkward gaps. The new assets bring much needed variety.

I'm so happy with this new content, this is great! I still haven't bought the game, cuz I'm not particularly loose in the financial department, but I'm so excited these changes are being brought on. It's really starting to look like the game I wished it had been from day 1

LOVE these new assets! Thanks for such a detailed review of them. Cannot wait to play ... so happy tomorrow is a holiday so I can play to my hearts content. 😀

I haven't played much CS2 since launch, but this patch seems like a huge win.

Wow! The smaller assets (and without ugly roads in them) are so nice! The assets look good and leave room for the player to be creative and decorate them individually and uniquely! The vanilla ability to change the surfaces is amazing too - I haven’t bought the game yet but this patch may be the one that does it (now I just need s new computer first haha). Shoutout to the developers for making strides in the right direction! And thanks to Phil for sharing this info! (In the future I hope they make all the additions able to be added to any building - for instance the sports complex/playground should be able to added to any school)

These new assets look great, and I love that it diversifies the ways in which a city can be built! Big cudos to the dev team for making this happen!!

That urban police station genuinely looks so so so similar to the Police HQ in Johannesburg RSA, grunge included! I literally did a double-take and rewound a little to make sure I saw what I thought I saw! XD

Wow, we're really coming along nicely. Just a few bug fixes (like cars driving on pedestrian only roads), prop line tool, a handful of balance tweaks to the new economy, and a few more network/road options, and the game will be "ready". I do really wish they would come up with some angled or curved assets which fit better along curved roads and circles given how unusable the zoning tiles are around circles, but I'm sure that's more difficult than I think it is.

This is amazeballs! What a great find in my YT feed tonight! I don't even know where to begin on the things I liked "best"

I'm so happy that this team is dedicated to improving the state of this game! I've trusted them for the 8 years before this game, and seeing updates like this keeps that going. I will definitely be jumping back into the game again tonight as a result, thanks team!

The new Canopy-Covered Parking Lot could fit some places well: - an alpine mountainside small town to protect cars from snow - a mixed school campus as a part of 2, 3, or 4 of these same lots as a centerpiece fence around a huge central park

6:50. I'd love to see other water tower like assets. I grew up in a neighborhood that had a community well. It be cool to see something like that come to the game and provide services to specific sections of your cities

The medium train station looks beautiful! There are many old craftsman style train stations in my province and I bet there'll be a mod that changes the building model to look like those, much easier than making the whole thing from scratch!

For that amphitheater park, I could see them doing a base version of it with an empty center circle, and then working with upgrades for it to add whatever function you want to that center. The parks expansion was my favorite in CS1, and the fact that they went back to old style of parks in CS2 rubbed the the wrong way, but these new ones do have promise!

I am sooo glad about the train stations. I like to have commuter rail lines but it has always been tricky to fit the massive station everywhere.

Everything about this patch is awesome! I don't play with mods, so vanilla improvements like this really hit with me.

Wow that's great. Now after one or two additional updates like this one and the addition of the asset manager the game will slowly become what I imagined it to be from the first trailer on. I'm starting to get excited for the game again. 👍

This is exactly what the game needed, Its kind of crazy to look back and see they released this game with so few variations of something like the parks

Hey what you mentioned at 22:30 I think a lot of people would agree on. I know at least for me thinking as a mid rise multi family developer having the parking behind the buildings and keeping the road fronts walkable is super desirable and it would be cool to see you incorporate it more into the builds.
