Beste Grüße, Horst Lemke, Musikproduzent, Germany Ps. The Sweet haben meine gesamte Jugendzeit musikalisch geprägt!

Poor Mick looks so bored here. It kind of hurts to see him here vs the Musik Laden videos in 74 where he was so happy and vivacious. He had such drumming joy then. Here it is all gone.😔RIP dear Mick. You can play the kind of music you love where you are now!

Probably because Brian Connolly was a terminal druggie at the time, and the Sweet was struggling after Love is Like Oxygen. He's there to pick up a paycheck...genuinely a shame that something you love can become bereft of joy under the wrong circumstances. Guy could probably drum blindfolded and still keep his fills clean and on beat.

I know. Brian went on to a solo career but then formed his own Sweet band later. He had so many personal issues and problems. It's sad, sure wish he could have overcome them but he couldn't and they took his life way too soon. 💔

Steve told, he didn´t like this song and he didn´t understand why they didn´t show him more on this video, on video, what ever....Steve wanted to be the star after Brian, but the real star was Andy, (Steve never could have been) who was the corner stone since mid 70´s after Brian lost his interest to keep band up.

I think wanting to be a star, as well as a good musician, is the goal of all people in this field. Like actors, dancers, etc. It goes with the mindset of wanting to be on stage performing. If they didn't want to be stars, they would become Respiratory therapist's like me.

The three of them great musicians and versatile so I kind of disagree....all good singers..i have an inkling there was a clash between Steve and Andy..pity they did not carry on
@anagraham91243 жыл бұрын
I don't think Steve wanted to be the star and the lead singer, he was just kind of thrust into the position. I don't know why Andy didn't take the position since it's kind of what he wanted all along.

Sorry but for me it is a very bad pop song. I can hear only these horrible keybords. Why is Andy playing a guitar in this video?
@AJAXKID1235 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It sounds like zero effort was put into it. I can’t quite express it, but it sounds like a pop song written and performed by only a marginally talented person or band. There is nothing creative or striking or even catchy about it. Sweet was so much better than this. Very bad pop. Makes me sad.
@newavatar29474 жыл бұрын
i totally disagree! Very bouncy,punchy, catchy pop tune!

@thorstenkehde34534 жыл бұрын
@@deborascott2893 It' s okay that you like uninspired pop songs. A guitar player who made songs like "set me free" or "own up...", must be in a really bad situation writing such pop songs. Ah yes, he played also the keys😂
