mastodon , opeth , the sword , these bands will be talked about 20 years from now when they are discovered by some child just like if one today were to pick up a slayer , maiden or pink floyd record .
@johna15123 ай бұрын
it only took half that. I'm 20 and these are some of the main bands I listen to!

Furthermore, I think the only reason the vocals sound strange is because the audio here is from the microphone of the camera that was used to record this. The Sword rules.

I've seen videos that JD is on the money an others he's not, that's just the way it goes playing nite after nite. Can't always be perfect.
@thewoolycontacts12 жыл бұрын
that does play a factor. But generally, JD has his really good days and his not so good days too. Dont get me wrong, his talent for writing amazingly unique lyrics, bad ass riffs and awesome concept albums more than makes up for all of his short comings in my opinion. YES, the sword fucking rules. I cant believe i havent ordered a t-shirt yet. That basbeball t for warp riders looks soooo bad ass

@BlackMagicVII I think he played well on Warp Riders, yeah, it's not the typical unrelenting crash you normally get from trivett, but listen to to Lawless Lands and how well his track sets with the du dududu dududu dududu groove from the guitars. It's pretty Funky!

He's dedicated, I'll give him that. Hopefully he'll actually go to one of their shows , change his mind and put that dedication to good use some day

J.D. Cronise needs to grow out his hair again. It fits the style of music they play when he and his bandmates headbang. Like a commenter posted here, he looks like Randy Marsh with the short hair.

@MrShockey13 Really?!? I though he left before the album? Why was he so weak on the new one?

Dude, have you been kicked out of this band?

I think these guys have a decent sound, plus some outstanding riffs. it just strikes me as kinda weird that(stoner)metal can now be considered hipsterish! whatever, but, back when i discovered sabbath and the like, back in...81!, i never thought i'd see the day. much less during the 90's, when even metalheads sneered at the greatness of Vitus, Pentagram, Cathedral, Trouble, Obsessed; Sleep and other 'losers'. what's next? Terrorizer on Letterman?!
@YearsOVDecay14 ай бұрын
Idk this is alot closer to metal metal than some of your named bands

I like Mastodon a lot but I think The Sword is a more listenable band.

J.D. loses a lot of power singing this live. But it's still fucking awesome!

i dig the sword, but they have to work in their vocal performance, maybe some backvocals will help them sound more like in the record, but they are a fkin great band anyway

These guys need a new road engineer. Every live recording I've ever heard from them sounds like it's coming from blown speakers.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE The Sword, but I think it's mostly JD. Live, the dude can't sing for shit. AT ALL.
@fumanchu16132 жыл бұрын
@@TheCatabolicTrex he’s not the greatest singer in general but for some reason his voice works really well for the sword
@jewcats111 жыл бұрын
You think this is bad you should listen to pierce the veil
@SatanPanda12 жыл бұрын
I hope it sounded better live, the vocalist is way too loud in the video, best part of the sword is the guitar riff in your face
@chi3fgri3f12 жыл бұрын
Their new drum is so weak on there new album

Trust me, it sounds good live. But his vocals turned up too much
