I'm an Aussie living in NZ and I'd never heard of the Teskey Brothers until I saw them as a support act to Cold Chisel at Glenelg in Jan 2020. I was in the front row (the only place to be at a Chisel gig), hanging onto the barricade and I stayed in that spot for at least 8 hours. The Teskey Brothers came on stage and just seconds into their first song I was blown away by them - they are brilliant. I bought 2 CDs from the Merch stand after the show - can't believe I'd never heard of such a talented band before, Their music gives me goosebumps!

Last Tuesday (12 December) I saw The Teskey Brothers for the second time. This time they were in Christchurch, New Zealand and once again I was in the front row, centre stage and wowwwwwwwwwww what a concert. Josh's voice is really something else. Every song was just perfect and one of the many highlights of a fabulous night was when the audience joined Josh singing a 9 minute version of 'Hold Me'. I hope I don't have to wait another 4 years to see The Teskey Brothers again.

I’m old school. I love this genre of music. Soulful - deep- heartfelt. Soul music is my favorite. Soul is colorless yet I admit we all want to sing this way if u feel it in your bones. Nonetheless it is soul and blacks own it. My boy bought a few shares in the mix. Get it white boy #musicbringsustogether

1st time I've seen someone on KZbin give a true detailed break down of Josh Teskey's vocal nuances and technique especially at 4:20 where you mention his voice cracking and at 5:04 where you said that the notes he can't hit that well, add to his soulfulness too. 5:56 Feel he's a mix of Otis Redding & Joe Cocker, the latter especially with his Raptor/T-Rex r/hand movement he has going there lol, he's definitely got them throwback Blues/Soul vocals and the band especially the horn section is firreee. Hopefully you'll check out more of their music, similar song in terms of feel to this is _"Pain & Misery"_ and there's a upbeat song called _"Hold Me - Live at Forum"_ would be the best to check out, crowd gets involved in that one. Thanks for reacting to these boys from Australia :). EDIT: The correct spelling for your title and caption is TESKEY, you’re missing an “E” between K & Y ☺️.

NOT ONE OF THEM got the otis redding connection. I'm not racist at all. My children are mixed race, but the fact this is the 7th reaction video I've watched, and they didn't even get otis stunnes me. By the way, I'm white, 52 and full off soul, blues. These kids critiquing singers and they don't even know otis shocks and disappoints me
