I know exactly where this place is!!!...I was born in Kingsville and my grand parents & my mom are from Kingsville...My mom worked there at “Harrell’s” back in the early 1950’s...I remember going there as a young kid...When I visit Kingsville,,, I always pay a tribute to both the “ King Ranch store & Harrell’s” across the street...A little bit of “Americana” still exists...thanks for sharing...

I am from Kingsville, and grew up with Nick. I can remember going to the pharmacy, when Nick’s dad was the pharmacist. Nick and Tio Kleberg have the ‘stashes to beat all ‘stashes. And if you went to the “old” high school and Memorial Jr. High, you more than likely ate lunch at Harrel’s lunch counter. Glad to see you made it to my old hometown.

I am also from Kingsville, and loved Harrels Pharmacy and my mother used to work at Central Drugs the other pharmacy in town back in the early 60s

If you get the chance to be in Kingsville again, you should definitely check out Spice Station. Indian Asian fusion cuisine. The staff becomes your best friend immediately and they give free samples to newcomers. Definitely worth a try.

Awe I miss eating at Harrell's for lunch when I worked 2 doors down at Cynthia's Antiques Store. My absolute favorite was the chimichanga and chocolate banana shake! You can't do Harrell's without an old fashioned shake!!

I was stationed at NAS Kingsville and found several really good eateries. The Kings Inn for one, a couple of pretty good taquerias and a place called “Potooties” (or something like that) that served doctored up baked potatoes that were excellent.

Youngs Pizza sold the Patooties when I was stationed there from 81-85. Out by the college. Good food.

@@beckyumphrey2626 Huh. I was there from 81-83. I worked at the training department where all the prospective aviators went to train on our simulators. Were you in one of the VT squadrons, PSD, or base administration?

I was most definitely not a fan. Food is ok but they were rather rude. I guess yeah sure history and whatnot, but what? Of like a handful of people that romanticize the past? Kingsville is a pretentious town that insists on its self when in reality it has nothing to offer. EVERY TOWN has a history, Kingsville is nothing special to talk about.
