Like probably many learners, I view videos from several different sources in my quest to learn Spanish. Some are better for expanding my vocabulary, some are better for improving my listening skills, etc. I have also bought some premium materials from some sites, including yours. While helping with grammar among other things, I find your videos often fill a unique niche. They at times offer a way of looking at Spanish in less complicated way. This video is a prime example. I believe the name of your premium course "Logical Spanish" is actually a good general name for your entire way of teaching. I didn't really appreciate that at first, but you grew on me.

Brilliant! As a native Spanish speaker it's crazy to realize all the hidden complexities in our language which just come naturally to us. I would translate "lo de siempre" as "the usual", and as others have pointed out "lema" is masculine.

I always read "lo de siempre" to be "as usual". That may be because I've heard it used a lot on sitcoms.

Amazing ending that I wholeheartedly agree with. I’m only 15 who has taken Spanish since kindergarten and can only hold a 3rd grade level conversation with a Spanish person. The way Spanish is taught in schools is not natural or helpful which is why I have decided to find my own resources, watch my own Spanish shows, and talk with Spanish speaking people instead. You are really helpful in all your vids, thanks!

A combination of classes and videos and other resources can really help. If you can get a set of Pimsleur CDs or audio files, those a great! It is very conversational. No text or flashcards, just speaking and listening. They are pricy, but maybe you can get them used. Another helpful thing is to watch a novella for teens with your English subtitles turned on. You can also try translating Spanish language popular songs to English.

This man is heaven sent. I have gotten better in understanding the language just by watching this. I knew the significance of lo when someone uses it but i never understood it that well when i had to use it. I could say a sentence in spanish and everything would be right except i would have either forgotten se, le, la or lo. I am trying my best to complete this aspect. If i do i will be better at understanding and grammar..Thank you so much.

The thing makes sooooooooooo much sense! Now I understand what I have be saying. Can you make a video explaining "se" the same way? Even my well educate native Spanish speaking friends cannot explain how and when to use "se". Thanks again!
@jtixtlan
@jtixtlan 5 жыл бұрын
Here's something I learned about "se." It would be awkward to say le la or le lo, so use se instead of le in those situations. Also, se is the pronoun to use with reflexive pronoun used for himself, herself, itself, themselves, yourselves, NOT le or les.

The idea of "the thing" for "lo" really helps. I was always confused by phrases like "lo bueno" and "todo lo posible". Did you think of this yourself or did you find other sources that treated "lo" similarly? If you thought it up on your own, then you should be really proud. Thanks for all of the time and effort you spend figuring all of this out for us.

Hi Jordan! I was wondering if you could make a video around the idea of how the subjunctive mood denotes different ideas. It is used in the same way that voice inflection helps us understand how people are feeling about what theyre saying. I have recently figured this out on my own but I think you explain stuff SO well and it could be very interesting for everyone to know (along the same lines of your "words dont mean words video"). Thanks!!!!
