HEY JAE! I listened all the way through. Your videos are my positive reinforcement for my journey. December 11 22 was my first weekend sober. Found your channel may 2023. Have had some slipups. But more than 325 days sober a yaear as opposed to drunk everyday is a win.

Thank you for sharing your story. I listened to the end too. I am bouncing around in your videos and find them all inspiring. I dont know how many times I have started and stopped over the 30 years I have been drinking... the profile pic is very old. lol! Take this last labor day weekend, I told myself its ok to let loose here and there... you have been doing so good. the whole weekend was spent drinking from sun-up to sun-down (I think, its very blurry) come Tuesday morning when I had to log onto work, my hands shook again, my head spun, I couldn't keep a solid thought line, I kept sweating, and I basically felt like shit for that day and the day after. I felt angry at my self for being stupid. I had 2 weeks of sobriety and was finally able to sleep and focus and felt good. thank you for showing us you can stand up again and keep moving forward.

I've never been too crazy and never got into trouble. I definitely started crap with people while intoxicated and felt a lot of shame over the years about my behavior. I quit smoking cigarettes back in 2018 and wanted to quit drinking but that was a little harder to quit. I never have been a pot head or into anything else. I think everytime you quit and then go back you learn something about yourself, especially if you're paying attention

Hey dude I don't know your name. But I listened right through to the end. Don't worry about it my friend. That's happened to me a good few times now. When I first got sober a couple of years back. I decided I could maybe drink. Truth is I was lonely and kind of wanted to have a girlfriend.. So I remember heading to a bar on the bus downtown and it was like the entire universe was screaming at me, don't do it Michael,,, get off the bus and go into reverse and go home. But I didnt and it led to more and more drinking. And I still didn't learn, I kept goin Back to the drink. So I know what it feels like,, I just knew, as u say about the paths,, I'd went down the wrong one again and I nearly died a few times cause I went down the wrong path my friend. But don't feel bad dude, ur a good guy, I can see that. I just hope that next time we both will be able to say, hang on a minute, this is the wrong path I'm goin down here.. I choose not to go down the wrong path anymore cause I know it leads to more suffering and unhappiness. Hope this helps

@@GettingSoberAgain About a dozen. I think I'll start making some too and document a pivotal time in my life. I caught a replay of the live stream last night. You knoiw what would make the live streams pop off? If you invited other sober centric channels and did a zoom hangout or a watchparty on Hulu. And even dropped a link to the chat and see if anyone wants to join. And make the ability to join live streams a Patreon mid or top tier. Have a great one evening and thanks again for putting it all out there. -Chase

What a mental story , ha ha ha ! That’s the kind of shite that happens to me when I start drinking , I make bad decisions that ends up with drugs and all sorts ! If I were just sitting here making them without any feedback, it would have been really easy for me to say "who cares" and probably drink again. Enjoy the mug!! I have been crazy since a youth but always very responsible and always worked but my crazy streak was crazy. You name it I did it sex drugs and anything to get a thrill. Now I’m 61 had five kids and still have a cray streak but I raised my kids very conservatively and my crazy was a secret . I still struggle but my glass of wine at night I have given up and the edibles and the coffee watching you I feel great I’m looking forward to better control as I have slipped into crazy as recent as two years ago so never quit

Managing the impulsiveness and the desire to let loose will always be something we need to work on, you're right. I always found it interesting to listen to stories of rock stars who could have whatever they wanted whenever they wanted, and of course, the story was always sort of interesting at first and then very sad at the end. So many of them turn out depressed, miserable and desperately seeking sustained happiness. Keep us updated on your progress. Balance looks different to different people, and moderation is certainly something not to take for granted. Total sobriety is the answer for some, manageable moderation for others, and its up to all of us to find the right recipe for our own success =)

Hey Jae, I listened to the entire video is Halloween weekend and I'm used to drinking and doing other things, I've stayed sober and it's been hard but it's so nice waking up without a hangover and getting stuff done, I'm currently painting my house, I've lost my fiance due to my drinking but she called me last night to see how I was doing and I answered and I answered and she could tell I was sober and on my way to being a better person, maybe we'll get back together? Idk been working out alot lately too and the results are staggering, i can see the difference from not drinking and know I'm actually seeing results, thanks for making these videos I'm gonna subscribe and listen tonight, thanks I don't think i could of done this without you....

Hey Dave, that's great to hear! Remember first and foremost you need to get sober for yourself. Any other benefits that you acquire along the way are more than welcomed bonuses. If things work out between the two of you again that would be awesome, but don't discount or discredit yourself as having grown in that time span as well. Both your needs may be different, but you're definitely going to be a better person in the end! Here's the playlist to our most recent episodes! kzbin.info/aero/PLddHUddS-QQjIYyRNl-E3bkOiEWWIZtEt

This story is hilarious and sounds like something i'd do/have done many times before. I love adventure and it would only take one innocent beer for me to wind up a few months later in some random state. At this point I have young children so I'm on the trying not to drink at home once they go to bed loop...and just as you say waking up with a deficit. Just stumbled across your videos looking for chinese hotpot recipes....ADD o_O but hey....one day down now LOL.

I found away to drink without stumbling and slurring, not reeking of it I guess you will call it functional. Def still a problem. Just wondering if you have any videos that address this type of behavior or plan on making one in the near future, you’re very relatable and very informed. Love your content

There are functioning alcoholics and drug users. the real question is, are you willing to keep being that person, or are you ready to prove to yourself that you don't need alcohol to BE YOURSELF! 👍🏼
