@@jakeblancaster8498 A lot of omitted lore is stuff I've covered in previous videos, specifically my list on the Forgotten Darkstalkers Characters, so I tried to balance this as a video that wouldn't repeat points I brought up before, but for people just discovering my videos, it would be a good introduction for the series and if they were more interested, I have other videos to expand upon it. The list was more meant to be a tribute to all the years I've spoken about individual characters and finally pit them against each other in a ranking. Far as Morrigan's abilities go, lore states that her wings have incredible shapeshifting powers, not only forming things like jet boosters and laser cannons, but also hardening to a stone-like consistency to block attacks. Lilith, being a part of Morrigan's soul, also has these abilities. As for BB Hood, the reason for her involvement in the story is that she's so actively malicious that Jedah mistook her for being a Darkstalker and drew her into his realm. Her matchup against Lord Raptor is meant to contrast how the two became so monstrous.

@@Blayne06 Bulleta/BB Hood is one of the most evil characters in the series. She is cruel, greedy, and enjoys killing her victims. She is so evil that she caught the attention of Jedah, who deemed her worthy of joining his dimension. In Project X Zone 2, Bulleta appears as an enemy, she changed jobs from Dark Hunter to assassin, saying those days are over. She got hired by Shadaloo and even Lord Raptor Also fun fact, Lord Raptor's friend (Le Malta) has a crush on Bulleta but she doesn't care about love. You can see that in their special intro in Vampire Savior

@@pauliepizzo8633 But then Capcom would not be able to cash in on Darkstalker rereleases or Marvel vs Capcom. Plus there's another problem. Darkstalkers takes inspiration from the universal movie monsters, that is both its biggest strength and weakness. Darkstalkers already has every type of monster you can think, the only type they didn't add is ghost. Which explains why Hisako from Killer Instinct exists, since Iron Galaxy also worked on Darkstalkers Resurrection. It's much harder to add more monsters compared to people. Which is why there are barely any monsters in Under Night In-Birth. Also Under Night was made by French Bread not Arc systems.

I've always loved Street Fighter and when I went to college, in their recreation room there was a new game that looked like Street Fighter but there was strange stuff going on. I was introduced to Darkstalkers and quickly fell in love. At first I was playing Darkstalkers in between classes, then I realized later I was going to classes in between playing Darkstalkers. The game became my primary focus. I would love if a new Darkstalkers game came out. I think of new characters all the time. Witches, scarecrows, gorgons, headless horsemen, giant spiders, slashers, warlocks, carnivorous plants, reptile people, more demons and more monster hunters (like a Van Helsing type) could all be used with a Lovecraftian beast as a final boss.

Everything visual about this game is perfect! I mean even the animation of being electrocuted is so unique to each character (Pyron getting a constellation skeleton or seeing the little bee inside Q-Bee) or in Zabel's Hell Dunk when the little ball version of each character splats on the ground (LeiLei's sistser's spirit squirting out of her mouth or Donovan turning from one of his wooden beads into a string of beads), they have just about thought of every touch. It would definitely lose something if they ever 'upgrade' it to Streetfighter 4-5-6 style.

I've heard rumors (and basically confimations) that a new Darkstalkers was in development during the middle of the SSF4 days, and I can't imagine how it would've dealt with all the life in the character animations with the stiffer SF4 graphics. I'm almost afraid a non-sprite artstyle would've dampened hype. UMvC3 did it's best, but I feel the DS characters were missing a bit of oomph (mostly in their getting hit animations), so maybe it's for the best it didn't happen in the early 2010s. Though, now with the Guilty Gear cell-shading tech, Darkstalkers has a chance to look stunning in modern gaming.

Here’s how I see an announcement trailer for a new Darkstalkers game to go today: It starts with a foggy background which then reveals the Capcom logo. It then fades away to reveal a full moon in the night sky. We then hear a female narrator talk about the conflict between the light and the darkness, all the while we’re shown the following images: Demitri's coffin opening up revealing one of his glowing red eyes. Several men reduced to shriveled-up husks as Morrigan dresses herself up and flies away. Jon Talbain's human hand slamming against a wall as he transforms into his werewolf form. Anakaris rising triumphantly from the sands of Egypt. Felicia walking towards a bright and shining stage as she begins her performance. Victor's lifeless body lying limp on an empty bed in his castle before being hit by small bolt of lightning which brings him back to life. Bishamon's sword Kien being unsheathed, which releases a dark aura. A graveyard where we are then shown Lord Raptor’s grave, which then bursts open as he rises from the grave clutching his signature axe. A shot of the Amazon river as we then see Rikuo's silhouette swimming beneath the water. A snowy trail where we then see Sasquatch walking by, leaving behind large footprints. A decommissioned Huitzil robot, which suddenly reactivates itself. An ember from a volcano which suddenly sprouts horns and blue glowing eyes, revealing it to be a fragment of Pyron. Donovan's sword Dhylec embedded into the ground before being telekinetically pulled out. Mei-Ling in her talisman form searching for her sister Hsien-Ko before noticing her offscreen and jumping towards her. BB Hood inside an armory full of weapons, preparing an Uzi and putting it in her picnic basket. Q-Bee and her legion of Soul Bees flying off in search of souls to eat. Lilith seeing a bright and colorful amusement park and then transforms into her human disguise to join in the fun. Jedah Dohma's lifeless body rising from a pool of blood, where he then opens his eyes. We then see the title of the game, which is Darkstalkers 4, however a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen says that this is a working title. The final image then teases the game’s new villain, who is shrouded in darkness before revealing his glowing red eyes. It then cuts to the game’s targeted release date. That’s how I see an announcement for a new game to go, anyway.

Aside from KoF, I think Darkstalkers have the best character designs. Even if I don't like their playstyle, every character looks interesting and unique and makes me want to play them just to check out their story. It also helps that the visual style and whacky animations make everyone so fun to play.

I can't believe you missed Donovan's 3 other spirits. He doesn't only control fire, ice and thunder spirits. He can also summon a water, giant-earth type and devil type spirits as his special moves.

I've covered Donovan int he past, so I didn't want to repeat everything, but I should've brought up the giant one at least. I love making a Monty Python reference with the stomp. Also, I always assumed the devil spirit was his Dhampir side taking charge, which why I only showed it, but the water spirit I did miss! I generally just use the fire, ice, thunder, and giant foot when playing him, so those dudes stuck out in my head the most when writing.

Evereything about her appearance suggests a water-type (the trident, the watery background etc), but she actually helps Donovan by striking a thunder? I’m with you: all Darkstalkers are great and there’s no bad Darkstalkers. If I have to name favorites: Talbain, Felicia, Raptor, Huitzil, and Anakaris. The fans have kept the series going, but hopefully Capcom will join in on the fun and someday make this list obsolete. Until then, keep the spirt of Darkstalkers alive with great fan content!

If a Darkstalkers character were to grace their way onto a future Super Smash Bros title it's most likely Morrigan. Despite her very sexy appearance, she surprisingly has way less skin than say Felicia who's practically naked except for a few bits here and there. As for Demitri Maximoff... Yeah, maybe it's a good thing our favourite succubus is far more popular because I do not want to see that guy performing Midnight Bliss on the entire roster... Especially the younger kid characters! (And Pokemon)

When I was editing, I was wondering why I didn't put Felicia higher, which might've bumped Demitri out since he got a boost from me sympathizing that he never gets crossover love like a lot of the other higher ranked characters. Either way, I do love the Jedah storyline with the succubi the most, and I like Felicia and Raptor doing their own thing each game. I would liek to see a hero/anti-hero team-up with them again like in the OVA.

@@MrTopTenList I absolutely love the idea of Lord Raptor as an anti-hero type. One aspect of him I feel is never explored enough is apparently he has a crush on Hsein-ko, but they never do anything with that story wise. He just gets a unique entry animation against her. Hsein-ko in turn has a victory screen line about him in MvC3. I could see a Felicia and Raptor team up maybe running into Hsein-ko to add to that team up, Felicia just being the piece keeper between the odd couple of Hsein-ko and Raptor. Felicia also has a good dynamic with Talbain in the comics, so maybe could throw him in there too. Make like this small team up of Darkstalkers Similar so a Maxi, Kilik, Xianhua world traveling trio. Though in theory with would be more of a 4 person team up, 5 if you count Mei-Ling with Hsein-ko. Maybe they could even frame it as a music world tour situation since both Felicia and Raptor have ties to being musicians.

@@ironmurothe manga are very rare but they explore Lord Raptor and Hsien-Ko’s relationship very well. He is not just lustfully in love with her but actually wishes to be loved by her ever since their first encounter where he saw how determined she was even after she lost a battle to him. Raptor has a lot of evil in his heart but there is still a soul in there.

Happy anniversary they are going to have crossover with a show about Queen’s and Blade no am not joking two of my favourite franchises are having a crossover I wish they could be in a fighting game together.

I saw this too yesterday morning. Quite a surprise considering Queen’s Blade is notorious for the fan service and none of the Capcom ladies got a combat book in the spin-off Queen’s Gate series from years past.

@@YeldellGW yeah but both franchises have lot in common when you think about they both live in world where demons are hunted by humans and both the main protagonist and these days the reboot of the antagonist have themes similar to Morrigan.

I don't like Donovan He feels out of place in Darkstalkers I don't know how to explain it 🤔 Even Bulleta fits better in the series than Donovan To me, Darkstalkers is not as serious/dark as some people think. The main reason why I like it is because it is silly, goofy and cartoony Donovan could work better in other franchises like Street Fighter, The King of Fighters, etc.

The reason Donovan was made is because Dimitri was the protagonist in the first game, and Capcom said Dimitri is too evil to be the protagonist. So Donvan was the protagonist of Darkstalkers 2 because he's more likable than Dimitri.

@@meganinten0078 Fun Fact: Capcom said that Hanna-Barbera cartoons and Disney were the biggest inspiration for the animation of Darkstalkers. It wasn't because they wanted to, it's because they had to. It's confirmed that all of the characters were designed by different artists. Thus Haruo Murata had to come up with a way for all the characters to fit in the same world. Cool Fact: Demitri in the OVA is voiced by Paul Dobson, most known for Naraku from InuYasha.

He's indeed cool enough to get it. I hope he gets some crossover representation soon, whether it's another MvC or CvS. The Demitri/Morrigan rivalry deserves some attention in the 21st century!
