On a different note uncle Stu, I have just fitted heated grips to my Triumph ,never would have plucked the courage up to do such a task without you inspiring confidence in me . This Saturday my first time servicing the Street twin oil ,filter, coolant change, and chain maintenance . Bike out of Triumphs so called warranty now so going to save some pennies. Ta very much.

I have been, or was a great user of Solvo Autosol. This product has been about for years. First discovered it in the sixties. A must have metal polish for all the alloy 'bits' a Brit Bike had in those days....My Triton had polished alloy primary chain case, timing chest etc, alloy rims plus a few other minor parts.. before taking her to concentration I would spend hours cleaning, polishing.... all part of the ownership experience....Now I own a Triumph 'Striple the Autosol languishes in my tool chest, unused... there ain't anything to polish, except maybe the exhaust. And, because I live in España washing off road 'filth' isn't an issue.... Into the carwash to get rid of the 'dust' then a clean and shine. I discovered a waterless ceramic solution called 'Hybrid' its supposed to put a hard barrier on paint work, I still use Turtle wax for the final job...Bad weather is not the problem but the Sun is... A couple of days ago it was 40+ c... Greetings from España

Nice video Stu, I love the Meguiars polish too. Also found that the stainless steel covers plates on the Royal Enfield shine up amazing if you use a with cleaning/buffing wheel and paste.

Hello Stu, I sell stainless fasteners on the internet, before posting them out I polish them using 'Peek' metal cleaner, it gives excellent results, the only down side is that it has a strong smell of ammonia but I can live with that considering the results that it gives.

After having watched your video, I ordered the double speed wax. Well, Stuart, I've been able to see 3 things: 1. It is really economical, as one needs just a little of it to obtain... 2. ...a very good result, as my old BMW R 27 was shiny, afterwards. 3. I suspect there could be a link between "me using the wax" and the rain which came shortly after this, which helped me to state the wax was a very effective water repellent 😅 I'll add the bike is clean again, due to the wax efficiency. i started using Simonize Carnauba Liquid Wax because you recommended it and i am very satisfied with it, but just wondering if the BiltHamber Double speed wax is that much better than the Simonize i might get some for all my chrome as my Thunderbird LT has a lot of chrome lol Great video as usual Stuart

Ooooh have to told MUC OFF to do what it kinda sounds like LOL Like you I've tried many products over the years , I find they are a bit much of a muchness . I tend to use autoglym products mostly . Never used Bilt Hamber though and I've seen it used on other youtube videos along with their other products, they come highly recommended by others as well so I will probably change over to them as and when I run out of Auto glym products .

Hi Stuart. Great video. Thank you. Now some questions. 1. Are there any changes you have made in your own cleaning routine as of 2024? 2. Silkolene wash off now comes out of the bottle as a a foam jet rather than a spray and so doesn’t cover a wide area. Any views on that? 3. Snow foam is popular nowadays. Is it any good? I’m approaching my first full clean on my RE Classic 350 Reborn after a month of ownership. To be honest, until now I’ve just hosed it down with cold water after short running in rides, to remove salt and the worst of the grime. And then dried it with a bike dryer. But I think a monthly Full Fillingham is required!

Yeah, the Bilt Humber Surfex HD contains: ALCOHOLS, C9-11 ETHOXYLATED 3-10 %, DISODIUM METASILICATE 1-3 %, TETRASODIUM (1-HYDROXYETHYLIDENE)BIS PHOSPHONATE 1-3 % and the rest is probably distilled water, so it's the good stuf :-). I will order it, coz that chain of your got really clean. I'm sorry for being a MSDS-junkie (it's a job related thing) :-) and thank you for the video Stuart!!!

It's been my APC and degrease of choice for some years now. Kind to nearly all surfaces, hot or cold. To be honest all Bilt Hamber products are V Good at what they do.

What on earth can one do to help flaking chrome? I mean can anything be done to help the appearance, stop it, slow it down anything, besides buying new parts or rechroming? Triumph engine cases are pricey.

Can't find the Silkolene products here in the U.S. My current regiment is as follows... Wash : MucOff Cleaner (I know Stuart has abandoned this product for reasons) Protectant : MucOff Protectant Wax : PoorBoys World Natty Blue Carnauba Chain Cleaner : Maxima Clean Up Chain Cleaner Chain Lube : PJ1 Blue Label Aluminum Polish : Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish If anybody has something they think is better and can tell me why I'm all ears.
