Somewhat offbeat idea for a top ten list and I think it's pretty frickin' cool 😎. I own the Ria and the Penguin and I'm surprised neither is gonna make your end of the year top ten list. I really like both of them. Another aquatic themed knife I own that SHOULD have made this list is the WE Kitefin. Surprised it's not on this list. Perhaps it'll make your end of the year top ten list? As for another offbeat top ten list idea, how about knives named for birds? Or sharks?

I think Gavco has a few shark names, Thresher is another one. Spyderco Pacific Salt. I have a discoed Salt 1 and Mcusta Stingray. I love small knives but hated that Squid. I’ll put up with things being too small all the time but that knife drove me nuts. I like the idea how you collect all the BM Mini Grip and Squid variations. I started collecting Dragonfly 2’s but it’s an old model, overpriced and I’m thinking it may be upgraded. Plus, there’s about 100 variations.

I tried collecting Spydercos but it's impossible to keep up, and frankly, that just isn't fun. If they ever release another mini grip it'll be exciting because it doesn't happen often. Collecting becomes a chore when there are so many being released.

The Mermaid Boker knife is silly from our stand point. From Bokers stand point, is a great marketing trick,that made almost all knife people, show and talk about that knife and Boker. I have seen this knife in many KZbin videos, on most of them, I rarely or even NEVER see Boker knives. It's just an opinion though, So I could be wrong.

Love the theme and I learned something about my Grampus which I thought was a Danish Grandpa or something. It was a fun list but you left out my Artisan Corsair (pirate ship). Mine is S35VN, CF & gray titanium. You will HATE the knife because it is an aquatic mini cleaver.....with AVAST MATIES, a ring clip on the back end. WHAT?...check it out... It’s UNIQUE! I love my cleavers and this is just a fun knife in a collection just because it is so different, but definitely a solid, solid usable knife. I really enjoyed your list..but am extremely skeptical of your number one pick! LOL!!!!!!

Hahaha I did leave that one out on purpose. There are a good number of knives from the Bestechs, Artisans, and QSPs of the world that are named to fit this category. Honestly I could do this list again with 10 different knives that's how many of them there are! No cleavers though!

Do Spydercos generaly cut better (smoother) easier? If not, which brand or knife, that comes into your mind, cuts better, feels better quality when you cut with it etc? (Favorite lock mechanisms or ba clips aside, just speaking from a knife performance prespective) Thanks in advance

Generally, I'd say Spydercos as a whole are more consistently good cutters from factory than other companies. They are generally ground sufficiently thin and heat treated well, and are very sharp from factory.
