I kinda wish that were more the case throughout AC. As in, the more you build relationships with the villagers, the more they reveal about themselves to you, and the more you have a chance to do the same to them (via dialog options.) Would give you this sense of bonding and progression, and would give each of the villagers a chance to feel like an individual.

In New Leaf it's established that Labelle was going more towards her roots by working in a shop connected to her sisters...and while she still seems distant from her sisters in New Horizon, it has been confirmed that she now goes by her original name, Label. So in a symbolic sense she's going back to her sisters and familial roots even when she's apart from them. And it seems like she'll be visiting the island for the express purpose of seeing her sisters, at least that's the impression I get.

I love Wild World cause all characters have a form of back story, especially if you visit them at specific dates, or go to the cafe in the bottom of the museum at specific hours. People show up, and if you talk to them enough, they're gonna reveal something about themself, or about someone else. It really is small town gossip. But the great thing is, they leave it up to the player to patch up all the information and learn all the secret relationships between museum staff, shop workers, and townhall staff.

I think this tragic story actually became a happy ending in new horizons. When Labelle comes over in new horizons, I think she mentioned changing it back to label. Also, after doing her mini quest (whenever she comes to the island), she will send you a clothing ticket that can be redeemed at the able sisters shop. This shows that they do eventually reconcile and are even working together to some extent (as some of label's items are sold at the shop).

I'm assuming Digby and Isabelle were given the "free puppy in a box" backstory, but Isabelle has a doting mother who reminds her what "good puppies do" (sharing), leading me to believe they were adopted. Isabelle has multiple degrees, and she lives with Digby. Isabelle keeps her room messy to the point that she doesn't want Digby seeing it (I believe she stated that she didn't have time to unpack, but I can't remember).

Their names are interesting too when we look at them a little closer. Obviously Labelle's name used to be Label, it's as if she was destined for "bigger and better" things from a young age, compared to her more simplistic sisters. Then the name Sable is one letter off from the *word* "stable" which makes sense when we think about how much she's been through but she keeps pushing to take care of Mabel. FINALLY, Mabel's name is also significant. The Latin origin of the name Mabel is "lovable, dear". It emphasizes the fact that she is the little sister and is loved very much by her two sisters. Even though Labelle abandoned Mabel for a while, the guilt of leaving her *dear* sister is proven by the letter she wrote! (wow i really spent the last 20 mins thinking about all of this, ty for taking the time to read this if you did)

So, sad story. I used to live in Mason Ohio, there was a kid named Sable that my Brother knew. She was nice, but we moved. We moved homes, and the next week we got news that she died because of flu and strep. There was pink ribbons everywhere in the town for her, leading to her funeral. Sad thing is, people made that death into a clothing trend. To make money for themself. After awhile this was canceled by the principal and all funds were given to the family. Sorry I’m ranting.

I think the story is based off of the five stages of grief, or at least draws many similarities. This starts with the parents death and then we get into grief. Grief: Sabel is forced to be the head of the family, still overcome with stress and sadness from her parents passing, making her job harder because of the grief she feels for her parents. Anger: Labelle is the anger stage, which is the fight between her and Sabel, resulting in the family breaking even more and causing Labelle to move to the city. Bargaining: This stage is with Tom Nook being Sabel’s last resort, aka their friendship, which is represented in the scissors and their conversations under the starry sky. Depression: This is the stage where Tom Nook changes because of the city, and Sabel being overworked by her job which changes her into being quiet and wanting people not to bother her, especially during this time. Acceptance: This is the stage where Labelle starts to send letters to Sabel to fix things up. In new leaf everything is fixed between them, as it seems, and they all move on from everything to form Able Sisters together and to be one happy family once more. That’s my theory on the story. It’s really interesting to see this type of dark story in a game which even though simple, has a strong message.

I wish that theres a new leaf update to new horizons (let me explain) Heres an idea, since tom and sable ended up falling out i say there should be an update where on certain days neither of them are in their areas cause they began rekindling, and while that happens you get a task to help mabel realize that she isn't going to be running the shop with sabel in the distant future so you help her get together, i also say that at some point label will ask you to promote her on your bulletin board to help her grow in popularity, i want this so its a way for the able sister story to have a well end and the two younger siblings can turn over a new leaf

I really love Sable as a character, one of my favorites. I remember when she first talked to me, I was like "wait, do you recognize me?" and well... it was... a beautiful moment I guess, I think I almost cried then. Couples might not be possible, but you can have a really close bond with a villager. I remember playing ACNL about five years ago and there was a villager I really liked, we befriended and then I had the idea of writting "romantic" letters, and his responses were kind of poetic as well! This happens after you've purchased a certain number of hats in her section of the shop. Since I bought I think over 100 already (might not be too accurate but I did get a lot) she is very friendly towards me and often shares information about herself. You see this after she begins to be more friendly towards you everytime you leave, or how she greets you when you enter. If it isn't entirely based off of purchases, than you must simply enter her shop every-day to talk once afterwards.
