Barron was on with Ben Shapiro, & Ben asked him straight out that am I going to hell if I don't have faith in Jesus ? Barron replied that we don't do that anymore, echoing Francis.

By telling Ben that he goes to hell for not believing in Jesus is being judgemental coz how do you say Abraham is in heaven or Adam for that matter. To tell someone that he goes to hell for not believing in Jesus is taking the role of God. We are not there to tell people if they're going to hell or not. We need to tell them there is hell and there is a possibility of going to hell.

@@SheldonDsouza126 To use Abraham or Adam as examples is very weak. In fact... Abraham and Adam DID NOT enter Heaven! They COULD NOT! i.e. UNTIL the Redemption had been accomplished by Our Lord Jesus Christ! "Consummatum est!" "It is accomplished!" Before the sacrifice of the Cross, NO ONE could enter Heaven. "No one comes to the Father, but THROUGH ME." "I AM the resurrection and the life"

This was very disturbing. I turned a blind eye to Bishop Barron's corruption because I appreciated his "intellectualism" and the work WoF seemed to be doing. Very disappointed in myself for being so gullible. I've canceled my WoF subscription and will be donating the books I purchased by Barron to the library.

Praying for +Barron. Praying that all return to the One, True Faith i.e. Traditional Catholicism. The ONLY reason I am a Catholic is because it's what the Early Church believed. And no snake in bishop's clothing will steal my salvation from me. God bless~

Did anyone even ever hear of Traditional Roman Catholicism before 18th Century? Why are you so worried about a recent Religious Movement? A Movement that is highly Clerical and by nature abusive. Why not rather pray that all return to Ancient Historical Christianity as lived and practiced by the Church East and West in the 1st 1000 years.

The early church communed infants and gave the Eucharist in both species. Something the Council of Trent straight out denied and condemned. What exactly is this mythical traditional catholic faith? Even saint Augustine questions someones faith if they deny the Eucharist to infants. Rome is in schism and heresy, even your idol “traditional catholicism”

Catholicism is a 9th century invention of Charlemagne which he used to impose feudalistic serfdom upon the proto-Orthodox Christians of Western Europe. Under Charlemagne's Catholicism you are either baptized and renounced Orthodoxy or you were executed.

Personally, it’s not something you should lose energy over. Or even let be a source of distress. The best way to explain it is that they’re not the true Church, so the reason why they wont fix this and all their other problems historically, becomes clear and in a way becomes sobering
@TranslatedAssumption

Have you considered that they have no interest in fixing anything? When I was in Catholicism I visited the Holy Resurrection religious community of Catholicism in Wisconsin and their community leader told me that the sexual abuse problems in Catholicism have been ongoing for several centuries. The way they described it to me was as if it was an expectation that those who engaged in clerical celibacy would have some means of engaging and unfortunately it seems that it usually ended up being with young boys though there was a pope of Catholicism that was infamous for impregnating a 14-year-old girl during his papacy.

Not just Francis, but the corruption he sees as in the Church, eg how many bishops, here in the West, at least, positively favor homosexuality and other deviance. I am Catholic, but I understand why men like Sciambra, or Rod Dreher, leave for Orthodoxy. They’re wrong and I pray for them, but I understand why.

Would married clergy help change the culture of the clergy? Weren’t the clergy married for the first millennium?

@BelovedSon
@BelovedSon 9 ай бұрын
The bishops used to be married and had kids but from what I recall the families ended up annexing church property once their dads died because all titles were under the name of the local bishop. The Church slowly mandated celibacy until it's now the norm in the West (unlike the East). There are also distinct advantages to having celibate clerics because, let's face it, there's no way priests are going to have the free time to celebrate the sacraments every day if they have to take care of their wives and drive their kids to school.

@@BelovedSonThe problem is is what you say true? Roman Catholic priests have a almost universal reputation of being lazy. Are Orthodox or Oriental Orthodox or Confessional Lutherans or Continuing Anglican clergy giving less time to their Parishes and their people, do the wives of married clergy encourage their men to do the work of the Lord, in far greater portion than they and their children demand of them? If it was the norm for Roman Catholic clergy to be married would there be so many Homosexlists be interested in becoming Roman Catholic priests so is it the insistence upon a celibacy among Roman Catholic clergy causing sickness and degeneratcy in large numbers of the Roman Catholic Clergy. In my experience Orthodox clergy are more numerous per Population of Church goers many times in even small Orthodox Parishes of 200 people you will have 3 priests very few times have I ever attend either Vespers or The Divine Liturgy in an Orthodox Church where there was only one clergyman, yet having one clergyman in a Parish of 2000 is common in the Roman Catholic Church.

@@BelovedSon I’m assuming that today the individual clergy don’t own church property under their own name anyway. No easy solution here but the clerical culture is a major problem, they are isolated from normal people, family life.

Great that you have grounding in scripture, but I hope you come full circle and realise you are missing pieces of the puzzle without the mass and sacraments. Frankly, mass is very scriptural, and not just the 3 readings either. So those who say Catholicism (and Orthodoxy for that matter) are not "bible based" are mistaken and convinced to think that way by the "bible believing church" spiel and kack of catechism. But otherwise God bless you.

Joseph instead of leaving the Catholic Church you should join a TLM parish. You will find the true Church, yes of course all of us are sinners but they stick to the traditional teachings of the Church and the Mass is beautiful once you get used to it. The theology is true. Then you’ll understand the Bishops who are trying to change the Church. Also there are Holy Bishops like Bishop Strickland and Archbishop Schneider. They will give you great hope.

TLM is just a distraction to keep people roadblocked from leaving Catholicism and actually discovering true, historic Christianity in Orthodoxy. I am a former TLM guy historical realities of the first millennium that Catholicism does not want to talk about and actively seeks to hide from practitioners of Catholicism.
