Fun fact- apparently, its quite common for women to give near addresses to their house to Uber drivers, so they won't have the exact address (in case you get a skeezy driver). And frankly, the driver probably wouldn't have cared even if that wasn't a common thing...

I remember having to help a friend of mine break into his house once, for essentially the same reason. He had to break a window and boost me up to it, made more difficult for him because I had to first move a rusty saw out of the way before I could haul myself in. Fun times!

This is why people make a spare key. Fun story: Last week my roommate locked herself out of our apartment because she didn't take her keys (thought I would be home from worker sooner than I was). She couldn't get in with the spare key because the last time she used it, she was in such a rush to get inside that she threw it on the kitchen counter and just...left it there.

My grandpa's house had a garage that wasn't connected to the house, so we never locked it. Didn't store anything of value inside, just some beach equipment, hammock, grill, old garden decor and so on. It even had a toilet connected to it. So, long story short, I once lived there for two days and one night because I forgot the keys and didn't want to go back to the city. It was a bit a bit scary to sleep there, but otherwise it was just fine.

Between me, my mom, and my older sister. We’ve had to break into the house we grew up in MANY times. Usually through the basement window that’s only accessible through something a child can fit through, the laundry room window that you need a tall ladder to get through (which we had hidden outside), or the kitchen window that’s above the deck which was basically moulding itself to hell (leg fell through that bastard quite a few times).

I was walking home from school on the coldest day of the year and forgot my keys, I must've tried getting in through several failing methods one being a ladder which fell over with me on it, until I just lied down on a swing for a half an hour. I eventually noticed a small basement window and snuck in through there, and used my pocket knife to open the sliding locks from the other side. I'm glad I was able to get in but in hindsight, a mentally and physically exhausted teenager being able to break into your house shouldn't be a good thing.
