The creator of the show Lauren Faust stated that celestia was meant to have pink hair only. it wasnt until AFTER the defeat of Luna/Nightmaremoon that the green and blue were added into her hair. (The reason for the two colors being added was a consequence .) She went on to say that Hasbro changed a lot of things without her approval despite it being her show, some of these things are the fact that flurry is a born alicorn , as it had already been stated as cannon that alicorn status had to be earned . (And that only females were able to become a alicorn . ) They also cut out certain parts of cannon storylines such as long sombra's backstory for example . ( still wondering what happened to radiant hope) And when interviewed Lauren Faust the Owner and Creator /Director of her show (which is gen 4 my little pony friendship is magic ) said that in absolutely no way , shape, or form , in anyway has anything to do with gen 5 . Hasbro created gen 5 soley for the sake of marketing toys which is why the storyline has so many inconsistencies and variations to it. In the comic of gen 5 Opaline is nothing more but an average unicorn In the movie she is the mysterious shadowy alicorn In tell your tale she's comic relief while still seen as villain alongside of misty ( you know kinda like team rocket 's Jessie James and moewth from Pokemon) In make your mark she is a elemental alicorn who happens to be a serious threat Even in the game Opaline is still the bad guy but with slight changes. See the lack of consitancy? Hasbro went the "screw a good story, let's make them buy toys!" Route.

Yeah, I noticed they went this path. It’s like they all thought they knew what they were doing but never thought to check if they were right and if it worked canonically. As a writer, I have many things I would change when it comes to G5, though I wouldn’t change the overall plot of MYM. I specially like Misty’s story (if you couldn’t tell, lol), and I’d keep that all the same. If I had a choice of what to change it’d mostly be little things like the placement of ancient artifacts or tweaking Hitch’s personality to better match the movie. The only big thing I’d change would be the way Sunny found out about the magic of friendship in the movie, as well as changing a lot of things about the last episode of Chapter 5, Nightmare in Mare Street. I see what they tried to do with the Halloween episode, especially with saying Misty is difficult to scare (which is a nice twist on her trauma), but if I’d write it differently. Chapter 5 had some good lore, though that last episode seemed wrong. But I’m getting ahead of myself, I’ll have a video about that specific episode soon. As a theorist, however, I’m ignoring everything related to its creators and basing everything on the assumption that it really is a sequel. I don’t see it as a kids show, but as a complete story, where every character chose to act the way they did because they chose to, not because they were written that way. This is how I always try to view stories, which is why you’ll rarely ever see me complaining about something the writers did wrong. Instead of blaming the writers, I try to find in-world explanations as to why the characters acted the way they did. And the same goes for the artifacts. As a writer, they seem all over the place and is clearly unplanned. But as a theorist, everything ended up the way they did for a reason, and that is what I try to explain in my videos. Not complaining about stuff, but finding explanations. Which is why I don’t call myself a reviewer, but as a viewer. I specifically did overviews of chapter 4, not reviews, for that reason. I’m not here to complain, I’m here to explain.

Hasbro created Gen 4 to solely market toys. And Gen 3. And Gen 2. And Gen 1. Why don't bronies understand that?

@@uni_meadows you can say the exact same for literally every show in existence. And yet MLP G4 lasted for 10 years and held several conventions every one of those years. Hasbro might have been focused on the money, but ask Lauren Faust and she’ll give you a completely different answer

Flurry Heart is the Princesss of Light. The crystal heart is always known to be "Love and Light". One side is Love and the other is Light. Cadance is Love and Flurry is the Light. Youre welcome. Edit: Also, we just got the conformation about 3 friendship trees that were grown by certain ponies. One of them being Opaline. I think Opaline might be one of the ponies we see in the book idk.

I’ve heard the theory that this is just an alternate universe, and I understand a lot of the evidence towards that. However, the creators meant this to be a sequel to G4, not an alt universe. Celestia and Luna could have lied about Opaline out of shame for the way they acted, or simply forgotten about her, especially if she never did anything until Twilight was crowned Princess of Equestria.

@@LightningStripe25 I think it's confirmed to be not canon only because they either forgot they wrote that in the literal physical book that people are able to buy and read up on the lore of the world they literally live in, or they decided the idea sucked and wanted to do something else. I hate that they put that in the journal though just to say it's not canon right after. Why put that in there anyway if it wasn't canon to begin with? I think it was supposed to be canon, they just forgot they had that idea already or had a better idea. I'm going to definitely study into it more as well.

I agree on Opaline’s point of view. I theorized to one that may have had a bad experience and oil it the wrong way. Another is that she may have behaved badly to another without realizing it. There a 1001 reasons to theorize, but these are my thoughts

you should come up with some theories around the mysterious /mist/ that teleported /Misty/ in the family trees episodes. I don’t think it was breezy magic - I think it’s a sort of magic within Misty. Misty disappearing from magical MIST? Coincidence? I think NOT.

Good idea, I’ll write it down. We know the tree in Bridlewood is a together tree, so maybe it had something to do with that? I’ll do some digging. I do have an idea involving that key she got, and I don’t think that’s breezy magic either. If I’m right, we could be seeing the remains of Changeling artifacts. I’ll be posting that soon

we dont actually know if celestia and luna treat her differently, the thing that you need to remember is that that story is being told by opaline and she is a biased narrator

That is true. From Opaline's viewpoint she was treated differently, similarly to how Luna believed she was treated differently. In both cases, Celestia never realized it was wrong until it was too late. As far as we know, Opaline was indeed treated differently, and although she is absolutely one to twist a story, there has to be some truth to it to lead her down this path of evil. She wouldn't want revenge otherwise.

As for Skyros, we barely know anything, so I don’t have enough to do an analysis of it. I’ll be ordering the Journal of the Two Sisters from my library, and see if had any information regarding Skyros. If it does, I’ll make an analysis, if not then I won’t have information enough to analyze

Also, if the crystal empire is still standing (which I believe it is) there’s a high chance we’ll find Flurry there leading it

I wonder if Elderflowers story about Dawn will tie with the book about alicorns. Was the "spider" in her story the mysterious alicorn from Skyros? I hope they won't fogret to address Skyros and Opaline's past in the next chapter because it seems to be the last one. I just hope it won't end on cliffhanger where writers thought they would get more seasons byt Hasbro canceled it. We would get similar scenario as with Teen Titans that ended on a cliffhanger. I partly blame the writers, because they should had focus on story and lore from the start instead wasting 80% of time on slice of life stories about internet trends and overall Pipp shenanigans.
