I’m new to your KZbin channel. When I saw this post about the HumVee it took me back to my active USMC days. When I enlisted the HumVee was just starting to be implemented into the Marine Corps. I was able to attend a HumVee driving course and Ill will say it was the best and funniest course I got to participate in. The HumVee has taken me to all kinds of place! It sure beat walking! Seeing your HumVee brought back a lot of memories of my time on active duty.

Sweet ride, yours is a lot more polished than mine. I also have a 91 Humvee and noticed your voltmeter is in the red sending overvoltage your batteries. In the TM it shows you how to calibrate this so you're not burning up your expensive 6TL batteries. Are you running these or some other batteries?
@raptorsofinsta4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I’ve done quite a bit to it since I bought it and have a few more fun things planned over the next month. Thanks for pointing that out, I didn’t even realize it. I’ll have my shop take a look at that. And to be honest I don’t know what batteries I’m running haha.

So what was the final diagnosis? I am looking at getting one just want to see what potential issues I might run into.

This was just bad luck. Some electrical shorted out and punctured a hole in my fuel line so I lost all my diesel in the parking lot.
@davesmith6128 Жыл бұрын
Sure would help everyone if you were more specific. "electrical short" and "Hole" in fuel line do not correlate at all. @@raptorsofinsta

They’re legal but really hard to title and license.

Dude that's not an H1. It's an HMMWV. Calling it an H1 is like calling a VW Bug a 911. Ok maybe not that drastic but they are night and day different from one another.

Nice truck! I had mine duramax swapped, so I'm still working out electrical issues and installing stuff like third brake lights, license plate lights. Mine died once on i 10. And another time off road down in a hole. Soooo, dying in a bank parking lot is pretty lucky...
@raptorsofinsta4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Jealous, I want to swap mine one day too. I’ve heard they drive so nice with a new engine and transmission. Haha yes a bank was lucky, just caught me by surprise. Turns out I had an electrical short that burned a hole in both fuel lines so the engine wasn’t getting any fuel and diesel fluid leaked all over once the guy pulled it on the tow truck.

Hahaha. Sounds like my Raptor 😂 you don’t happen to live in Utah? That sounds like a blast.

@@raptorsofinsta its had the inital work done in Utah and visit often, but I live in TX. I totally wouldn't recommend going to the place I went. Lots of bullshit issues getting the work done correctly. It was not a "turn key experience " Plan B supply - Avoid them . Custom Combat trucks is wayyy better.
@raptorsofinsta4 жыл бұрын
Oh man I know first hand how bad Plan B is. They had my truck over 3 months when I first bought it. Charged me for a lot of work that wasn’t even done or didn’t need. They wouldn’t answer any of my calls or texts. It was so hard just to get it back from them!
@lt96904 жыл бұрын
@@raptorsofinsta yeah. Overall, similar experience. It sucks cuz they did seem like nice guys, all friendly and seemingly confident in what they are doing, but reality, lack luster results. The one thing I could have used they didn't supply with my duramax conversion was a wiring diagram on the new set up. So it's been a reverse engineering experience. Thankfully the rest of the setup is solid, drive train has given no real problems.
