From what I read, the trainer of that tiger said that Roy was not bonding with the tiger like he was used to. Roy was not spending the time with Monticore. Monticore didn't want to do the trick and Roy hit him with his microphone which made a loud noise and pissed Monticore off. That's when Monticore lost his temper and pulled him off the stage by his neck. Monticore could have easily killed him but he didn't. He just didn't want to perform anymore.

When I found the right spot, just like a cat she leaned into the scratch. All 450lbs of her, crushing my hand against a bar of the cage. I screamed, she jumped back and gave me a "What did I do?" look. I couldn't clench a fist for over a year. A tiger doesn't have to want to hurt you to hurt you.

@@MrResdog911 Nah. I have two ten year olds who are never violent. With one of them, I've only been scratched lightly a couple times while playing with her. My fault. The other has NEVER bitten or scratched. Literally not one single time. They don't even hiss or growl. Even when they're play fighting with each other, they never hurt each other. They're _extremely_ happy and chill. Cats are undoubtedly dangerous, but also far too intelligent to just be mindless killer robots running on pure instinct. People need to understand that. They don't just attack "for no reason". "Your house cat COULD kill you…yes you too if they were big enough." ....not "would".

To quote animal expert Rodney Dangerfield, "Now I know why tigers eat their young..." There's reason tigers live solitary lives, male tigers will eat their own cubs given a chance. Monticore was doing what nature has given him, the ability to sense another animal's physical problems. In this case, Roy's stroke. The claims the cat was trying to protect Roy was an attempt to salvage their licenses to exhibit the cats.

But that story about the stroke is a rewrite. He bonked the tiger on the nose with his mic. The tiger got annoyed, mad, whatever you want to call it. It is the flowery rewrites that I object to. The tiger was not trying to save him from the woman with the hat. The tiger wasn't startled by the hat. The tiger didn't try to drag him to safety because of a stroke. The tiger did not want to perform, was hit on the nose and possibly startled, then reacted. But if they admit to that then they could lose their Vegas show, could lose the tiger, might come under scrutiny...

That’s the exact same thing with people that have pit bulls. Everybody thinks that they have a pit bull that won’t hurt a soul..until they maim or kill somebody. There’s probably a 99% chance that they won’t hurt anyone but do you want to be the one or have your child be the one that proves to be the exception to the rule? I know I don’t. It’s just not worth the chance you take. There’s other big dogs that don’t present that much of a risk. But you’ll never be able to convince an owner of a pit bull that their dog is remotely dangerous. And it’s been my experience that the people that own these dogs are not the most intelligent people nor do they take it upon themselves to train these dogs like they should be trained. It’s a very dangerous situation and when it goes bad it’s going to go REALLY BAD!

The original narrative stated the stroke was post attack. The surgeries and transfusions involved can cause blood clots, leading to stroke, pulmonary embolism & cardiac arrest. If this tiger was trying to save his life, it would've realized, such a gentle approach is warranted for a human. Personally, I think the attack was triggered. Something caused the tiger's natural instinct to trigger. It was trained to ignore that trigger, but not completely.

1:20 there’s more to this bear story that Joe doesn’t get into. The bear was trained to play fight. He was trained to bite arms softly, except he went for a guys neck because he thought he was playing, and the guy didn’t stick his arm out which the other trainer used to do. So the bear bit down until he felt bone, which was the guy’s throat.

You see how Domesticated Cats play with Mice or maybe a Lizard? That’s probably the best comparison to the Tiger swiping at you when you turned your back….. They’re “just” PLAYING!! They aren’t hungry, so they’re not trying to kill & eat you. They are “Playing”! They just don’t realize they play too “hard”……

Hmmm, that's probably why sharks don't usually attack rescuers . .they attacked when the person was unawares, but now there is more likelihood of injury as the opposing species knows the predator is present . .interesting .

Whites esp , have been known to try to tail lifeguard or random rescuers who float an injured swimmer or such in . .they will either circle or follow at a distance, visibly, often , but never attack the second person's feet or such, pretty interesting , huh ?

I remember as a kid watching this documentary. It was about tigers, and something happened like a flood. Bodies were washing onto river Bank. The tigers would eat the bodies, and develop a taste for human blood. So the they would become man eaters and haft to be killed.

I went to a tiger rescue place north of Dallas, TX - run by a married couple, I can't imagine the work and dedication it takes because it's a very nice facility. They emphasized safety over and over again and we could only feed the tigers using tongs. Even though many were zoo or exotic pet rescues, they are still wild animals and unpredictable. The big cats were really impressive, but the lemur cage was my favorite part.

I remember watching something about Siegfried And Roy a while back. Apparently the tigers seriously attacked other people backstage and they always covered it up. They even hid Roy from the public and vastly underestimated his injuries to downplay the danger of the tigers.

@@apoch003 Black comedy, also known as dark comedy, morbid humor, gallows humor, black humor, or dark humor, is a style of comedy that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo, particularly subjects that are normally considered serious or painful to discuss. Writers and comedians often use it as a tool for exploring vulgar issues by provoking discomfort, serious thought, and amusement for their audience. Thus, in fiction, for example, the term black comedy can also refer to a genre in which dark humor is a core component. So lighten up. It’s a joke. P.S. I didn’t coin the term black comedy so don’t call me a racist next. Good day.

I saw a study on Tigers. A couple raised the tiger since birth with their own children. It behaved like another house cat till it started reaching it's teens. Nature kicked in and they became very agreesive. After that they were raised in a cage. If they would have asked me I could have given them the outcome of the study. 2+2=4, tiger=the wild

The breeder lived in central Florida. Boudie. Might be misspelled. Many Animals Attack! shows on his tigers. The Harlem cat was one. And his keeper was maimed badly, was another. Most of the white tigers had deformities due to inbreeding. He was shut down for deplorable conditions. He was the typical narcissistic big cat guy. Young girls too. I met him once before i knew who he was. He came for a dead horse that he promised the owners he would bury. He was pissed because it was bloated already. I asked why he had a gun in his holster. He said he had big cats. The horse's head dangled from the makeshift trailer for the school buses to see.

I knew stagehands who saw the incident. Roy’s story is full of poop. The tiger took Roy back to the tigers kennel and the crew had to use fire extinguishers to get Roy away from the tiger. The tiger was probably triggered by Roy correcting it by tapping the tigers muzzle with Roys handheld microphone. The tiger was known for being an A-hole at times. Roy had also been drinking before the event.

That video of the man getting attacked by the trained bear just poped up on my Facebook timeline. I've seen it before but this time I saw something I didn't see the first time I watched the video. Before the attack he Trainer Threw the bear a treat, but he threw the treat towards the man. I am not a bear expert but I think the Bear probably thought the man was trying to steal his treat. So like Joe said a bear is going to do what is natural to him and fight you over food. I think it was the trainers fault for throwing the treat too close to the other man.
