Except tiktokers never claimed to be creating anything new. It simply trended on tiktok because a video of someone making one went viral and people in other areas of the country (and world) began to film themselves also trying it out. In North Louisiana we have a sandwich called a Po Boy it has tendor Cajun style roast beef,shredded lettuce with secret mayonnaise,sliced tomatoes,sliced purple onions on xl baguette bread and we dipp it in homemade beef gravy. Served with seasoned curly fries and homemade sweet tea . Literally one of best sandwiches that very few know about. It gets its name from the poor workers it was served too when it was created thus the Po Boy was invented.

It's funny because I'm from Philly and hoagies have a different type of bread made by the Amish in Lancaster county, we use mayo and oil, don't cut the bread and the way threw and we don't eat it like a sandwich. It's the tilt that lets you know where someone's from. We eat it's upright and you tilt you head in order to bite so nothing falls out lol.

I'm so glad somebody finally said this in a video! My grandparents used to make these and order subways sandwiches similar and add extra spices and the peppers when we got home. I now do too. I didn't know it was that old but I knew they'd been around for a loooong time and these influencers and celebs didn't create it. They just made them popular again.
