As a Turkish, I want to add that Italians never shed blood, both when occupying and leaving. They built many infrastructures in the area such as electric lines, modern sewerage systems etc. And as a cherry on the top they left their weapons and ammunition while leaving, those were used while fighting with the Greeks. They probably did all these because they were angry about GB giving Aegean coast to Greece, while they were supposed to be Italy's according to the early agreements. Whatever the reason is, Italy is the most beloved European nation among Turks because of all these. It's not well known to Italians themselves though

It's impressive, but bear in mind that France and Italy didn't really put that much of a fight against the Turks. They quickly left the country when they understood that the land wasn't worth the fight. Greece, on the other hand, had a real national interest and thus fought with everything they had.

Italy wanted antalya so much and they fought for it, they left the war because brits didnt accept to give italy those lands 4. You say only france and italy, but remember there is united kingdom that was a very strong country, and Turkey did fight in 5 fronts; Caucasian front, Syrian front, Iraqi front and 2 anatolian front 5. Turkey did not have enugh manpower and equipment, they were always bayonet charging, thats one of the reasons they lost most of their troops, but those charges were mostly successfull.

My family comes from Dikranakert (Diyarbekir), Adana, Van and Daroynk (Bayazet). My grandmother's family (mother side) was forcibly deported during the Hamidian massacres of 1894-96 from Bayazet. They left for Russian Armenia and reached Sevan. They were coming from a family of priests. Churches and chapels in their name were built across Daroynk (Bayazet). During the Hamidian massacres around 300 000 Armenians were killed. I ask you why? In 1909, my grandfather's family (father side) were forced to leave Adana during the Adana massacre where 30 000 Armenians were killed and the entire Armenian quarter was destroyed. I ask you why? In 1915, my maternal grandfather escaped the death marches to Der-Zor (Syria) by leaving everything behind in the ancestral city of Van and fled to Yerevan. My paternal grandmother's family survived the death marches of 1915, walking on their foot from Dikranakert to Raqqa. They escaped the last checkpoint camp on their way to the death camps of Der-Zor. They fled from Raqqa to Aleppo and from there to Beirut, Lebanon. My paternal grandfather's father lost 7 brothers and sisters on the death marches from Adana to Aleppo. He was blind and was left with only 1 brother, the youngest from the others that were killed. Out of 9 siblings 2 survived only. Their father was recruited in the Ottoman Imperial Army, only to be sent to forced labor and be killed there. Their mother was slaughtered before their eyes. These brothers were then sent to an orphanage in Beirut. Both of my grandmothers and both of my grandfathers had parents who were forcibly deported and survived by chance from the 1.5 million that perished out of the 2.5 million that there were before 1915. My paternal family had to grew up in Beirut, rebuild and revive the Armenian people from the ashes that survived, ashes that were banned by Ataturk from ever returning to their homes in Adana or Dikranakert. They had to continue to remain Armenian in foreign lands far away from their ancestral homeland, while Ataturk's government would seize their properties and enrich the coffins of the newly established Turkish State. My maternal family had to grew up in a Soviet Union, where they were banned from ever discussing or mentioning the genocide, because they could be sent to Siberia. Now tell me the reason. Can you explain the deaths of my ancestors? What other reason is there for their deaths other than them being Christian and Armenian? What was the crime of my family living in Daroynk (Bayazet), Dikranakert, Adana and Van? Was the demands of the Armenian people to equal rights, neutral justice system, the abolishment of the Ottoman Sharia Law, the end to the segregationist Millet system, the establishment of a federalized constitutional system giving Armenians the right to regional autonomy a form of revenge against the Ottoman Empire? I guess it was... I guess asking for democratic rights for a people was asking to much, was equal to revenge against the Imperial Ottoman State. And when Armenians had no other choice but were forced to rebel, were forced to seek their salvation from outside powers such as Russia, France and the US, they were blamed of treachery. They passed from the label "millet-i sadika" (most loyal nation) to the worst backstabbers. Had the Ottoman State left any other choice for Armenians other than to seek help from outside powers. How could Armenians continue to trust the Sultan or the very same Talaat Pasha that promised democratic reforms for Christians and Muslims when he came to power in the 1908 Revolution, yet came out to be the the main organizer of the Armenian, Greek and Assyrian genocide?

To everyone saying that turkey didnt have a normal fight: you must consider that even the turkish capital wasnt a big city, ankara was very and i mean VERY small, thats the reason ataturk chose ankara as the capital cuz it was easier to build a modern city from a small village rather than trying to modernise an already big city like istanbul, turkish industry was very small it was probably smaller than greece’s industry, considering that greece took almost every major city of anatolia at the time, so the turkish industry was close to non existent, turks didnt even have normal food, and you call that an easy battle? Turks deserve and have the right to hold this war as their pride cuz they did everything at their hands to do this and they succeeded
