Yeah this is a tempest in a teapot. It didn't change the result at all, and everyone on the field realized that. That's why it basically was forgotten by the time the game ended. A fan had a brain fart, everyone around knew that and you can tell from the looks on their faces. But a double is a double. It's not like a runner who would score had to go back to third because they started on first -- _that_ would have been an unfair benefit.

Now. I’m not gonna go as far as to say it’s rigged , but this is kinda weird and knowing the situations that happened in game 1, it’s quite possible. Let me break it down. 1. The intentional walk to Mookie to face Freddie and the ABSOLUTE MEATBALL Nestor threw him and the effortless A swing from Freddie in that situation still feels odd to me. 2. The defensive miscues were horrendously bad. 3. The verdugo foul catch. 4. The fan catch. Take it with a grain of salt guys

Boone goes with Nestor in that situation because Ohtani is like 1 for 12 off him. I agree with walking Betts. He is a notorious Yankee killer. Onto Freeman, you as the pitcher have to figure with bases loaded, Freeman is going up there looking for a first pitch fast ball. We all saw what happened. Billy Martin is spinning in his grave. If there was one thing he could not stand, he was losing a game on a first pitch fastball homerun. During a post game interview, Freeman admitted he has was looking hard in. Ohtani, in game 2, faces Hill and does nothing. Boone admits in his post game interview after game one. He did not go to Hill because he is a ground ball pitcher and felt they could not double up Ohtani. In a pre World Series interview, Boone states he will use Cortes in a tough spot to get lefties like Ohtani and Freeman. Hill was probably the better option as Cortes has not pitched in a month, but I'm not the manager. Verdugo makes a nice play in the left, and somehow, that's rigged??
