I've owned my 640i drive grancoupe for almost 4 years. I remember finding your channel and being so hyped. A German car super reliable n55 and something with not to much expense can make some decent power. I was in love. Honestly one of the best looking cars to date in my opinion. This is my story hahaha. And I am very very sad. I first got it and I'm still in love but many things have happened. First the pa winter smoked it. About 2 years down the road I started it one day and the car was sitting at times. A wheel cracked but I heard an odd clacking sound and it started like shit. This is after my 2 warranty ran out and I come to find my eccentric shift is shot on top of just the vavletronic engine. Bmw with both being done is about 8500 to 9 grand. I've only put maybe 12k on the car. New tires oil changes brakes brake flushed. Normal things then this. I start it time to time and found an oil leak and also my power steering pump is leaking. I don't owe a massive amount on the car but the financial loss is going to suck. On that I wish I could just fix it but I don't know if it's worth it. Like what happens next. Black exterior with brown leather interior is insane. The aggressiveness. Ever the steering wheel how it's smaller and feels a certain way. Idk man it's such a shame. For someone to fix it as daily is probably great. The car only has 70k on it. As far as my dreams for it. Spit right in my face. I still have nothing against bmw. Sometimes I wish I just went with the v8 if I new something shifty was gonna happen. O well for the time it was. And will forever be an amazing car to me. Yours is super gangster and I hope it keeps doin the damn thing

My local mechanic said the eccentric sensor replacement along with the 3 gaskets would be about 3 hours of labor if its only the sensor thats bad. did you try replacing the sensor first?

That's all that I'm hoping is wrong. I did have the car scanned and it says failure of that and also no eccentric ahaft movement which could just be the sensor. Either way the valve cover has to come off. Bmw wants 400 to scan it before working on it. I'm worried that they will see damage to the eccentric shaft
