Orange Rockerverb 50 for me. Had the most usable tones across the spectrum. Channel A on the Science was amazing too.

This was quite surprise for me! I have to say the winner is Orange Rockreverb 50. Science Mother on the close second. At the end of the "amp alone" part, the Rectifier produced some massive sounding palm mutes. Last is the Dual Dark... it has something in the higher tones that i dont like, it is too spitty.. idk. Before this vid, if you would ask me which would i take, i would say the Dual dark - no brainer, so it ending up last is very shocking... This also makes me want to hear next episodes as it might bring some more shocking revelations. Amazing stuff right there, keep it coming mate!!

I felt similar to that as well . I thought the DD was going to walk all over these amps . Then hearing them side by side it was my 3rd favorite out of the bunch . Thanks for checking this one out .

I found it almost impossible to beat the Mesa from the jump. It's got that thing. But that Orange Rockerverb 50. Wow. It shines where that Dual Rectifier gets in its own way. They miss that chime you have to EQ to get out of the way. But the Orange has it. Rockerverb 50 gets my vote. It took that extra dirt like a champ.

I genuinely thought the Dual Dark would be everything I wanted in an amp. but the Rockerverb 50 just popped up so much more in the mix, with it's very characteristic Orange sound. I'm impressed.

All amps sounded surprisingly awesome. As a lover of mids I didn’t expect to like the Recto that much, and I didn’t in the mixed example but I thought it sounded super sludgy and nasty in the playthrough section. Similarly with the Dual Dark it seemed a little scooped for my taste on some settings but still packs enough versatility to satisfy everyone. But the Mother and Rockerverb sounded so damm incredible. Both insanely rich, bright and dynamic with a fantastic midrange. I’d say the Mother sounds a bit more "slow" and doomy with the Rockerverb being slightly tighter and more modern. However both amazing in their own right. My vote would have to go to the mother as it seems like an under appreciated beast of an amp with great potential. Thank you so much for these videos the comparisons rule

I’m happy to do these video . I’m very happy to hear everyone has been enjoying this series so far . Both rockerverb and mother shined in this shootout I feel . But I feel the Mother had a more useable clean tone and took pedals a bit better . But I was so surprised on how much I liked the rockerverb as well . Both are amazing amps . I’d rather have a Dual Dark than that version of the Rockerverb any day, but it needed some tweaking. Someone said somewhere they’d like to see a Super Crush style amp based on the Dual Dark. That needs to exist in my world.

Tough decision, but I'm giving my vote to the Orange Rockerverb 50. I have the SS amp equivalent, the Orange Crush Pro 120. I was surprised how the Dual Dark's tone sounds more suited for regular Metal and Death Metal.

Science amps rocks! EQ section of both Orange amps are super versatile and makes a lot of difference in tonal possibility’s. I love Dual Rec’s but they are weird to dial in correctly. I normally turn down the treble completely to get rid of the hiss and ad some presence. Tune mids to your liking.

The Mother is just flat out great . The clean channel is wonderful on this . I also love how easy it was to dial in . Both the oranges were solid but the rockerverb worked best for me . The Mesa is nice as well but such a pain to dial that thing in .

SCIENCE Mother. Can easily tone-match the Rockerverb with the mids knob up but it has a more percussive and articulate low and top end. Some chime but not brittle. Boom without flubbing out.

@@FuzzedDrones In comaprison, you´ll get why they named it Dual Dark, the Name is no Joke. All 4 Amps are great on their own, the Mesa has "glue" in its sound, meaning it is full and without "holes" in the Frequency Spectrum, but the lack of Cutting through the Mix is its Tradeoff.

Fantastic video man. The doom genre often gets bogged down with the thought that you have to use a fuzz pedal to get the sound that you’re after. These 4 circuits are great examples that that’s not the case. For me, it’s between the Dual Dark and MOTHER. They’re very different but both do the “thing”. I’ve watched this 4 times now and… Science MOTHER 🔊 🔊 🔊 Also shoutout to Eric and Frost Giant. Excellent choice in using the Osiris

Out of these here I’d pick the Science, and then probably the Mesa. The RV50 is a great amp too, it really does cut a dense mix like a knife. The Dual Dark though.. I really don’t get the love for those things. Scooped to f$&k, with that brittle harsh top end. The Mesa is scooped as well, but the top end is smoother. And having spent some good time with both those amps, you can get almost any tone you want out of a Dual Rec, whereas the DD is fairly limited.

Recto for me. It sounds more open, so it can be more dark just dialing, once the dual dark by the way, when increase the highs it not open, but more noisy for me. Science would be my second.

Not a common choice but the ad200 is a perfect amp for this use. I use mine with baritone and high gain and fuzz on my board. But hot pickups will push it into medium/high gain on its own. I have the rv100mk3 and ad140 that are both great but the 200 adds the massive bottom end without that mid suck you get from most bass amps.

?? How am I supposed to choosee?? These amps are all incredible. If I have to I will say the Dual Dark just because it has that sizzle that makes it sound extra nasty when the gain is pushed. And you expect an Orange to have a super boxy midrange but the shape control really gives you a lot of versatility with a very simple interface. Dual Dark it is.
