Hi Yolanda. Is it advisable to split the money i want to invest in a fixed deposit investment between 2 different institutions? Won't one of the investments be seen as a second income and trigger higher tax and capital gains tax? The monthly interest will be my only income.

Fixed deposit are interested income and will be taxed according to your marginal tax. It does not matter how many you have, tax it the same
