At just about every event I go to, at least a few people ask me "what are your camera settings -- it looks incredible. How do you get that good of video?" And while I'm not doing anything special or amazing, I did want to share with everyone at least what I'm doing to get that great video. On all of my rigs, I run an FX799T, and a DIY antenna. And then I use these settings on my camera. All credit goes back to clutzz, a friend of mine from fpv-chat.com.

Please Note: Once you change White Balance to Manual and force Day/Night to Color, you'll notice AGC will then have the Low/Mid/Hi options. - I use very similar settings with great results in most any lighting conditions indoor and out. Thanks for sharing Paul.

Not sure if its just my cameras or what, but If I leave Auto Gain Correction on at all I get whiteouts and on occasion ill get this brownish red haze that makes it impossible to see. Happens on 3 hs1177s from 3 different vendors

what is the best setting when picture is backlit with too bright Sun, clouds etc. and I want to see the details of the ground?

I had my own settings close to yours and changed it for Mr Steele settings thinking they were better but I don't like it. I will try these. Thanks

I forget what the stock Gamma, PED Level and Color Saturation are, but you didn't change them if they are different from what Clutzz had. I will have to test these out later today.

I found the image with these settings rather green. Besides that I don't know if you have less steps from clear image to static noise no signal if you remove the ability to turn the image black and white. I had the idea that when my VTX had less signal it degraded to black and white. Now I don't know what I will get when I get this far out with the signal.

The AGC was not available because Color/BW was set to auto. Once it is set to color you can use the AGC settings. But AGC works much better night flying then it does flying in sunlight.

I just bought one of these from Drone Eclipse and the camera would not power on at all. Also the side holes weren't threaded so I couldn't even put the camera in the mount. Where do you buy yours?

Huh. I think I actually bought this exact camera in this video from Drone Eclipse. The side holes are never threaded -- you just have to use a little elbow grease for that. What do you mean the camera wouldn't power on at all? What are the symptoms? email me at paulnurkkala at gmail .com and I'll get you connected with Scott from Drone Eclipse. I'm sure he'll want to make sure you get up and running.

Like Bulbufet FPV said - those holes get threaded by the actual installation of the screws - just be sure to use a proper size/fitting phillips-head screwdriver to do so - they can be a bit of a pain. Good luck! - BTW/FYI: actual 2mm machined threaded socket head bolts are much easier to install into said holes... They really should ship those cams with them instead IMO.

The new HS1190 (available at Drone Eclipse) does have threaded side holes :)

I have now realized that the holes were just me being stupid. But the camera has a functional problem. Drone Eclipse on the other hand was amazing. I emailed him and he sent me out a new camera free of charge and I can keep the old one. He really has a great website going on over there.
