A few additional callouts to the hidden strengths of the Taíno EU, the Baira Hunters: - They don't require a technology unlock, so you get an improved Crossbowman-equivalent (31 Combat Strength) the moment you enter the era, even if you're struggling with technology and War Summons is a distant dream - "Canoe Fighters" grants the unit "no penalties from rivers", which is more than just combat strength: Entering a river tile doesn't automatically consume the rest of the Hunter's movement, so they have tremendous battlefield maneuverability in being able to enter, travel, and shoot from river tiles with ease - Additionally, an army comprised entirely of Baira Hunters can enter river tiles on the overworld map without ending their turn, also thanks to the complete benefits of "Canoe Fighters", making them excellent scouts and skirmishers.

It's a shame you didn't go over the Cuban EU, because each one provides -100 stability to enemy cities when standing on a district in that city It's for sure a really really interesting unit, and maybe worth trying to play around if you can make it to the end of the tech tree

Will you ever do an industrial era tier list

I actually like the Nazca. My way of playing is focusing on expansion and influence in the beginning and then getting like 12 influence per emblematic quarter is huge. Especially because it scales into the next era with every single new emblematic quarter.

I don't know if Jumbo misinterpreted the Taino legacy trait, because it actually gives you +5 food per territory in sphere of influence on each city and each outposts, so with 20 territories in the sphere of influence, it actually can give you 100 food on each city and outpost rather than the 5 he said
@JumboPixel2 жыл бұрын
Nice point, unfortunately still tied to influence generation ultimately. The other thing to remember is aesthete cultures get max dominance easily, so you may very easily lose the trait in following eras.

They're a bit situational but I do love the Taino. If you're doing well culturally but not militarily, Taino are a great time to turn things around in the medieval era with lots of potential food, instant-archers (Baira Hunters have no tech prerequisite, so you unlock them instantly even when War Summons is a distant dream) and their EQ is a very welcome Stability+Influence. +10 stability on an EQ means the cost of attaching those territories is closer to -10 per territory instead of -20 per territory, which can reduce the stability strain on empires with lots of territory. If you're strapped for luxury trade because your neighbours are hostile, and if you're facing that same aggression from hostile neighbours, than the Taino are in a great position to let you defend your borders and then expand in this era.

Just did a run with with taino, I agree with Zachary here. It's op. I started out phonecians, Persia, taino, Argentina, mhugals, India. By the time I placed down all the emblamtic quarters for taino I pretty conquered the map in influence. After that all the other cultures just solidified my victory. I would consider them s tier.

Just got done with my first game after picking up the DLC and I must say Cuba is beyond busted- earning 21 stars and getting all the tech never came so quickly. Let's say you have 6~8 cities with 3 territories each by the time you cross into the contemporary era. That's 18~24 pharmaceuticals that can be had in quick order if you spent a lot of the game min-maxing your cities and have decently high production. You can basically beat every contemporary culture in FIMS by a country mile with that. Couple that with the stability bonus and the extra 180~240 stability applied to every city basically means you can ignore needing to trade (any more) and press wars well beyond an enemy's 0 war support to really do some damage if you need to. Squeak the Christ the Redeemer and Sydney Opera House in there with some luxuries that add % bonuses and your culture is basically an extinction level event for the game. If you wanted to get REALLY cheesy just abuse the colonist/construction crew mechanic, absorb some territories, plop a few super quick EQ's, pillage the city, slam down an outpost, and absorb the territories for cheap and easy bonuses.

For me is an honor that our Tainos are part of the game now.

Infinite growth anyone? I have found that going Argentinians followed by Cubans is just about broken. You wind up with stability reserves in the hundreds of points, and it was not uncommon for me to see 4-6K food production on my cities.

New to Humankind. Just got it Friday and have done three playthroughs (two that I abandoned, one all the way to the end where I came in second). I keep having the same issue mid-game: Cities population goes into a birth/death loop. That is, I add more food, population increases; next turn, the people are starving and I lose one population the turn after that. How do I get populations to be more stable?

12:20 maybe I don't know the strength of Slots, but why is this trait broken?
@Zhoomz Жыл бұрын
You probably already figured this out a year later, but for anyone who reads this: population cap depends on the number of jobs available in your city. You take some heavy negative food modifiers for each overpopulation you have over this cap. This trait gives you a lot of free jobs for very little effort. For comparison, a district usually only gives you one job and takes several turns to complete, plus a stability hit.

Why isn't just a - f tier, instead of s - d?
@jerryleistrum8852 жыл бұрын
This is totally unrelated, but I thought you would know the answer. Has the game changed dramatically since the recent updates? I have played and won at max difficulty in the past. So what's up? I have been playing a lot since the game opened. I started playing some other games recently (Old World, Galactic Civilizations 3) and came back to HumanKind after a few weeks, but now I can't get rolling the way that I used to. The AI seems to playing better ... they're better at war, getting stars, and getting ahead on tech. It feels like a Civ 6 deity scramble. Is it my imagination? Thanks for all you do!
