I don't get what's so great about it. *Me, after watching Haikyuu:* Volleyball is not just an game, is way of life and passion for the poeple that love playing it, because they poured their sweat, blood and spirit. Real life is different...unfortunately, most of the time you will find people unwilling to get better at something, playing because it's just their routine...forget teamwork, forget getting better for a reason, forget victory as the ultimate goal. I remember I liked volleyball even before watching haikyuu. It was a sport which thrilled me more than any other, but as short as more (4'8'') it's kinda messy. Everyday I watched 3/4 episodes of haikyuu and went to my backyard and started just hitting the ball until the sun went down. I just kept practising alone at home, hitting endlessly to a wall, receiving by myself because there was no other way I could explain the inspiration and hype haikyuu gave me to keep striving up. I moved to another town and started highschool and I could I finally join the volley team after insisting months and months to my parents. Tbh the teacher isn't the best. She makes me wanna stop practising. She's harsh and I don't feel like learning that much. But I still wanna be there. I hit a down spot in volleyball the first semester bc I was really really bad at it, and with every match, I became more nervous and sad bc I knew I wasn't enough. I was just good in doing clean serves and aces. I've been in the team two years now and I'm kinda decent. But haikyuu just pushes me to the limit and beyond. Every time I feel bad in a match I try to think abt all the series has taught me abt ,not only in volley but in life. Lol I even remember the feeling I had when I made my first spike in a match and scored a point. Oh god that was so great. Haikyuu just expresses how thrilling volleyball is and thus why I love it so much. Idk I just love haikyuu so much because it gives me the inspiration to keep going in something I love and teaches me to never stop striving to the stop plus the great character development, vision and dreams of not only karasuno but players :)

@@ae86sthetic14 Not just sport! Anything can do, really. Art is the most powerful, in my opinion. (Because I do art.) I don't know about sport but every athlete I found on the comment section seems to be resonating with Hinata deeply so I believe sport is powerful, too. Your whole body experience it, after all. But I don't relate to sport at all, yet Hinata's and especially Kageyama's passion and hunger is a complete reflection of how I feel in my whole life. It's how I breathe, it's how I eat... and it's how I die-when I stop/can't do it anymore. But anything can do, really. Animals... trees... people... something abstract like dreams... or even things we consider dead, like soil or rocks. Anything! I think it's not about the activity nor the subject. Not about "passion" either. It's about living. People downgrade how it feels being alive. Tear it apart and detach some necessities, giving it a different label. Sometimes an expensive label like "passion", making sure it's so elite that they make us believe not everyone has it. Sometimes a demanding and professional label like "art". Completely changing its role from a life necessity-something normal and common and substantial-into some sort of profession that people has to master and their abilities are eventually measured/rewarded with money.... But art (drawing, writing, music, dancing, etc.) is supposed to belongs to anyone, to everyone, even the ones who aren't good at it and just do it randomly on a whim. And money isn't suppose to be the standard measurement for worthiness/final reward for everything. Honestly, feeling and being alive itself is the biggest reward. But as I said, "alive" meaning has been downgraded a lot these past centuries. You go to school, you work, you make money, repeat, and you call it living. The things that make you actually feel *alive* are cut off, inaccessible, so most people don't even know how it feels like to be really alive. Living become so shallow. Humans become so "normal"-not so feral like how Hinata is described to be-that the ones who does are being called weirdos. The neurons in your brain doesn't spark, the chemicals in your body doesn't run in excitement, and your soul doesn't bloom... and people say anyone who does is overrated or unrealistic, when it actually is how it feels like to be alive. Our quality life has really been decreasing... but it's never too late to rob it back. Sorry if my English is not understandable.

Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect from this show going in, I was really just bored and in the mood for some sports anime, but haikyuu reignited my love of sports that had been slowly fading since my freshman year of high school. I'm a senior now and captain of the soccer team, and I'm more motivated now than ever to win, since I don't want to stop playing, but that reality is fast approaching. I guess that's why I resonate with daichi, suga and asahi so much.

When season 2 and 3 where airing I watched weekly as the episodes came out. I usually had a game on Saturday, so I would watch the episode in the morning and be super pumped during the game. Those were the good old days. Last year, I hardly got to play at all, and it was so painful to stand on the side and try to cheer on the team but ultimately mostly get defeated. At the same time, parts of our team were splitting up under the pressure and dragging the team down further by expecting too much. This year, I’m taking a break, only practicing once a week with my old team because they need extra players to play six on six. Still, this is the least amount of volleyball I’ve had in my life since I was 10, and now I’m 23. I hope I find my way back to the volleyball that made me smile every single day.

"It all depends on if you have that moment or not. It doesn't really matter what happens in the future, or if you can win your next match. The joy you feel beating the guy in front of you, and when you're able to pull out 120% of your potential, is everything. ........... But once that moment arrives for you, that's the moment you'll be hooked on volleyball."

1:30 Hinata will do anything to avoid this feeling because its his fear....And because he faced the fear twice which is Kitagawa Daiichi vs Yukigaoka (Kageyama and Hinata's Junior Highs) and their previous match against Aoba Johsai. I think he isn't just curious, I think he is also reflecting. Telling himself "oh so that's how I look like loosing" and telling himself to try his best to avoid that feeling.

Very well made video my dude! I love how Haikyuu always makes it to KZbin in forms like this video where people just digest the anime and how the author tells the story in detail. Haikyuu is one of those animes where you can never get tired of, no matter how many times you watch it. Everything from the story, teams, character developments, humor, and so on, are just very relatable and applies to almost everything in life. And I think that is one of the few reasons why back when Kuroko was THE sports anime, Haikyuu just pummels it with this beautiful anime. One of my favorite scenes in Haikyuu will always be the hype moments for Hinata. The feeling you get when, for example, at the last point against Aoba Josai, when he screamed.... Man, you can't not tell me how hyped you get!

Aleczandxr, I know this will probably be buried in the comment section, but i was wondering whether you had any ideas to do an analysis video on dororo, particularly the first six episodes, i won't lie the series kinda dropped downhill after that arc but i still think the first few episodes had some real thematic depth and symbolism to chew on. Thank you for creating such great content!

I think the Mini arc where they focus on the defeated helps deepen the emotional impact of the loss to Aoba Johsai. Great analysis on this particular theme in Haikyuu

Can I just say the visuals from that particular Ending theme fit beautifully with the message of your video, really nice touch dude. This particular theme is very well integrated with the series over all and I think Oikawa also encapsulates it very well - both with his win over Karasuno in the Inter-High and his loss after to Ushijima. It's also the main reason why I can decide whether I like Hinata or Kageyama more for my favourite character, since they both possess this particular one-track mindedness for winning, so they tie as number one. I'm not very articulate, but I'm quite happy to hear you manage to put words to some of the vague concepts floating around in my brain. Also have you seen Ace of the Diamond or Diamond no Ace? It's a sports anime/manga about baseball and it really digs deep into the limitations of talent, injuries and motivation, how key players and their roles affect the team, competitiveness and rivalry among other schools and within their own team. Not to mention the very likable protagonist fails a lot, has set limitations he cannot change as well as unique strengths of his own and sits at about 125 episodes split between two seasons and even has a sequel that is currently on-going and follows the main protagonist and the teams second year of high school and how the team dynamics have changed with new additions and old members leaving. If you like Kuroko no Basket and Haikyuu then I think you'll like it as well. If you happen to pick it up, well then, I'd also love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks for all your hard work and I look forward to the next video, kudos from Australia.
