I re-watched seasons 2 and 3 during the last weeks and notice something, in the matches' ends usually the camera focuses in the defeated ones while we can hear the victorious celebrating. This made me realize how the show always try to communicate that for someone wins, someone needs to lose, and how painful is that. About the “lack” of a villain or even a “villainous” team, I think this is so great. I noticed that I really like all the characters, and I love how the show isn't trying to force me to dislike a character because he's “evil” (I really like Kuroko no Basket, but I hate how some characters are cartoonish villainous and I need to hate them just because). This make the characters feel real and is so much more powerful make us sympathize with them than just hate them. In time: Tendou (Guess Monster) is the best character. PS: Sorry for the bad English, it isn't my first language, I still learning it.

And finally it's coming back, re-watching it just gave me even more hype for the new season.

I remember I liked volleyball even before watching haikyuu. It was a sport which thrilled me more than any other, but as short as more (4'8'') it's kinda messy. Everyday I watched 3/4 episodes of haikyuu and went to my backyard and started just hitting the ball until the sun went down. I just kept practising alone at home, hitting endlessly to a wall, receiving by myself because there was no other way I could explain the inspiration and hype haikyuu gave me to keep striving up. I moved to another town and started highschool and I could I finally join the volley team after insisting months and months to my parents. Tbh the teacher isn't the best. She makes me wanna stop practising. She's harsh and I don't feel like learning that much. But I still wanna be there. I hit a down spot in volleyball the first semester bc I was really really bad at it, and with every match, I became more nervous and sad bc I knew I wasn't enough. I was just good in doing clean serves and aces. I've been in the team two years now and I'm kinda decent. But haikyuu just pushes me to the limit and beyond. Every time I feel bad in a match I try to think abt all the series has taught me abt ,not only in volley but in life. Lol I even remember the feeling I had when I made my first spike in a match and scored a point. Oh god that was so great. Haikyuu just expresses how thrilling volleyball is and thus why I love it so much. Idk I just love haikyuu so much because it gives me the inspiration to keep going in something I love and teaches me to never stop striving to the stop plus the great character development, vision and dreams of not only karasuno but players :)

Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect from this show going in, I was really just bored and in the mood for some sports anime, but haikyuu reignited my love of sports that had been slowly fading since my freshman year of high school. I'm a senior now and captain of the soccer team, and I'm more motivated now than ever to win, since I don't want to stop playing, but that reality is fast approaching. I guess that's why I resonate with daichi, suga and asahi so much.

@@ae86sthetic14 Not just sport! Anything can do, really. Art is the most powerful, in my opinion. (Because I do art.) I don't know about sport but every athlete I found on the comment section seems to be resonating with Hinata deeply so I believe sport is powerful, too. Your whole body experience it, after all. But I don't relate to sport at all, yet Hinata's and especially Kageyama's passion and hunger is a complete reflection of how I feel in my whole life. It's how I breathe, it's how I eat... and it's how I die-when I stop/can't do it anymore. But anything can do, really. Animals... trees... people... something abstract like dreams... or even things we consider dead, like soil or rocks. Anything! I think it's not about the activity nor the subject. Not about "passion" either. It's about living. People downgrade how it feels being alive. Tear it apart and detach some necessities, giving it a different label. Sometimes an expensive label like "passion", making sure it's so elite that they make us believe not everyone has it. Sometimes a demanding and professional label like "art". Completely changing its role from a life necessity-something normal and common and substantial-into some sort of profession that people has to master and their abilities are eventually measured/rewarded with money.... But art (drawing, writing, music, dancing, etc.) is supposed to belongs to anyone, to everyone, even the ones who aren't good at it and just do it randomly on a whim. And money isn't suppose to be the standard measurement for worthiness/final reward for everything. Honestly, feeling and being alive itself is the biggest reward. But as I said, "alive" meaning has been downgraded a lot these past centuries. You go to school, you work, you make money, repeat, and you call it living. The things that make you actually feel *alive* are cut off, inaccessible, so most people don't even know how it feels like to be really alive. Living become so shallow. Humans become so "normal"-not so feral like how Hinata is described to be-that the ones who does are being called weirdos. The neurons in your brain doesn't spark, the chemicals in your body doesn't run in excitement, and your soul doesn't bloom... and people say anyone who does is overrated or unrealistic, when it actually is how it feels like to be alive. Our quality life has really been decreasing... but it's never too late to rob it back. Sorry if my English is not understandable.

When season 2 and 3 where airing I watched weekly as the episodes came out. I usually had a game on Saturday, so I would watch the episode in the morning and be super pumped during the game. Those were the good old days. Last year, I hardly got to play at all, and it was so painful to stand on the side and try to cheer on the team but ultimately mostly get defeated. At the same time, parts of our team were splitting up under the pressure and dragging the team down further by expecting too much. This year, I’m taking a break, only practicing once a week with my old team because they need extra players to play six on six. Still, this is the least amount of volleyball I’ve had in my life since I was 10, and now I’m 23. I hope I find my way back to the volleyball that made me smile every single day.

Haikyuu is an inspiring anime, That's Some of the people that watched it,Now are playing and love volleyball.Like me, I love volleyball.Even tough I don't play so much because I don' have a volleyball or can play it because of school.Since we don't have volleyball try outs only other sports. And again,Haikyuu is amazing and inspiring. If i didn't watch Haikyuu,I wouldn't have played volleyball and wouldn't have loved it.Sorry if I'm saying this, I just love talking/typing about how I love Haikyuu.

I was rereading and catching up on haikyuu, and I’m so glad I watched this video. It’s amazing, and I love all your analysis videos. Also, I think another character that exemplifies this theme in haikyuu is Bokuto!

having started playing volleyball at 19, i really wish i had seen the beauty in the sport when i was younger and maybe even would have had a chance to get really good and join a pro team :/

I understand, I've only started playing less than a year ago as a senior in university. I feel saddened by the fact that I won't be able to play in my club much longer, but that doesn't mean the end. There are volleyball clubs everywhere, and if there isn't then find a way to get people to play. Never give up on doing what you want. You might not make a pro team or even be the best in your rec league, but just be happy you can play the game you love.

I've had a minor leg injury, keeping me away from volleyball for nearly a month, and I must say. That one month of not being able to play volleyball had somewhat torn me in half. I felt so desperate--I felt such yearning just to be back on the court. Of course, I'm back now, but there's always this fear lingering within me. I'm afraid of what will happen if one day, they were all ripped away from me. If I could no longer step foot back onto that court. And that terrifies me.

I think the Mini arc where they focus on the defeated helps deepen the emotional impact of the loss to Aoba Johsai. Great analysis on this particular theme in Haikyuu
