For me the greatest pointer is INFINITY. If you took off in a spaceship, (even one that travelled at the speed of light) you could travel in the same direction forever. The Universe is infinite. For it not to be infinite there would have to be something beyond it that was not it. But the universe doesn’t exclude anything, so that isn’t possible. Space being infinite goes on forever everywhere without limit. Which means that it doesn’t stop where YOU start - or else it wouldn’t be infinite. This means that you are infinite space APPEARING as a finite body, but never really being anything other than all there is - infinite no-thingness. Because there is only infinite oneness there are no real things. Because there are no things nothing is really happening. All is appearance. We are the absolute appearing as human beings. Thoughts are the absolute appearing as thoughts. The illusionary “ME” is the absolute appearing as ME. Happenings are appearances appearing to happen. Looking at pictures from The Hubble Telescope, whilst minds are attracted to the stars and planets, the real wonder is the infinite space/blackness in which these things appear. The space/blackness - being infinite - has no beginning and no end, which means that the planets and stars are merely appearances in it, or else the blackness would stop where the planets/stars start and so the blackness wouldn’t be infinite. This means that NOTHING is real - everything is an appearance in the infinite/absolute. So, everything is the infinite, appearing as the finite. All is oneness. For it to be anything other than oneness the space rocket would have to come to a place where there is a big wall with a sign on it saying “THE END.” Calling outer space “space” is misleading because it implies there is nothing there. But outer space is full of no-thing-ness. Because there is only infinite oneness there are no things. Because there are no things nothing is really happening. All is appearance. We are the absolute appearing as human beings. Thoughts are the absolute appearing as thoughts. The illusionary “ME” is the absolute appearing as ME. Happenings are appearances appearing to happen.

What's been realised is that Oneness can only be experienced if you include the space in your awareness - not just apparent “things.” It seems that when I include the space around the body in awareness (which is the same space as exists in the whole universe) all falls into place and a smile appears on my face. :-) @@FredDavisNonduality

Hi Fred. I have a question. I am getting good at witnessing the mind. As a result the mind has become very very quiet. Also it has become apparent that the entire world which I previously assumed to be objective is my creation in real time - past, future, elsewhere, and layers of thought which may happen on top of physical objects within my sensory view. As well I am made of thought myself. Seeing the true nature of the character and the objective world was a shock when it first happened but just a fact now. All of this is fine and very freeing but is also accompanied often by a sense of boredom. Is there something deeper that will reveal itself on the other side of this quietude / relaxation / seeing through the character / boredom?

Notice what? How is it possible to notice what is invisible and silent? If there isnt anyone, who is supposed to do the noticing? I think you are wrong about the gateless gate. There is a gate. The gate is made of delusion, attachment and craving. The people you were able to wake up probably had a relatively low level of delusion, attachment and craving. Since there isnt anyone, and there is no free will and no control over what happens, it follows that awakening is a matter of destiny. If it is destiny that a being will wake up, it will happen. If not, it wont. Your talks seem to have had no effect on this being(except to increase depression) and so it seems the destiny here is probably to never awaken. Awakeness is a concept. Aliveness is a concept. Consciousness is a concept. Awakening is a concept. As far as we know, everything is meaningless, pointless and worthless. It will take years of effective, intense therapy for most people to get past the f'ing gate.
