Having a podcast is every failed comedian's dream gig. You don't need to have a focused, concentrated set of jokes that kills your audience with laughter for a short duration of time. You can be meandering, and navel-gazing for hours on end, and all you need to do is have one or two mildly entertaining moments that can get clipped for exposure. No need to book comedy clubs and/or travel, just record your shit on the couch. Bonus points if you're high or talk about getting high all the time, because the people who have all that time to listen to your pointless ramblings for hours at a time are also probably high and love other people who talk about getting high.

Don't wanna ruin the whole true crime podcast thing but obsession with true crime can often be indicative of previous trauma. It didn't occur to me that I listened to true crime shit, damn near 24/7, for like 15 years, because *I was very uncomfortable with happy things* and hearing terrible things was what I was used to. I'm only throwing this into the ring for other people who do the same thing but don't realize it yet. It's really gone a long way to helping me feel better to ditch it. You'll never learn enough to keep you safe, and I promise you.. YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF WHY EVIL PEOPLE ARE EVIL, even if it feels like you are slowly figuring it out. In the end you'd have to learn to be evil to really get it.

I like podcasts because when I subscribe to a podcast I like and they release a new episode, I receive all those episodes in the order they're released . That, by definition, makes them the most satisfactory "content" experience available on the internet. A KZbinr of all people trashing podcasts is pretty rich.

I know that he is not small by any means, but I think Jack Rhysider (darknet diaries) deserve a mention. He's basically the true-crime podcast of the internet, and the amount of work he put into it is insane Its a bi-monthly podcast where he interview high profile people such as past convicts of cyber crimes, social engineering experts and so on. And is talking about famous cases at insane details. His research is also on point
