If there is one thing Emmanuel Acho is good at, it’s getting people uncomfortable, people like Lil Wayne, Matthew McConaughey, and Roger Goodell.
BUT today Acho gets uncomfortable himself…. And we talk about it ALL.

Why do you think people struggle talking about mental health openly?

I'd say it could be to do with not wanting to be a burden to family or friends, also just internalizing and keeping it in afraid to be seen as weak by their peers

It could be rooted in pride. We don’t share because of fear (also rooted in pride). Or we are known as the one who has always been looked at as the one who is strong and has to have it “all together.” Our outward appearance is more important than being vulnerable and honest. OR it could be a safety issue. If we don’t feel safe with the people around us, we won’t talk about it.

My time is so limited that I'm perpetually about a week behind on most of my subscribed podcasts and basically never listen to anything more than once. Yet, I have listened to this episode twice already because it has been that impactful on my life. So much wisdom coming from such young brothers. What a blessing. Some many gems. God bless you both. Thanks,

Appreciate you both putting the Lord first! 🦁❤️👑 The best is the way you established his value without fame or books or anything. Everyone needs this kind of respect, love, and support! Numbers 6:24-26 - The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace

I don't know about the other man, but I do know that Lecrae doesn't put The Lord first. He's either lukewarm or a wolf in sheep's clothing. Plus "mental illness" is actually demonic oppression/possession.

Isaiah 61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.[a] 2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,[b] and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. 3 To all who mourn in Israel,[c] he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

It's unrealistic to harm people in public and expect correction in private. There's real life consequences here. So the notion that people who are harmed do not deserve to hear the correction is harmful thinking. The harm has got to be neutralized.

People that tear you down for your platform are just upset of the fact that you got to where they believe they will never be so they justify their judgement based off of how they live. I own a Christian clothing brand. I can’t tell you how many people have issues with it.

Tobe Nwigwe isn’t aggressive, more assertive. Consider Toni Morrison retorts, Richard Williams correction of the reporter, MLK and others assertiveness. There is a way to be assertive and not passive or aggressive. It is possible. However stuff happens when your put on the spot

You know yall got to a point about where people approach you a certain way and "hit your line". Honestly though that's biblical and nobody cares about that way of doing things. Jesus said to first go to your brother in private and try to settle it that way. If you've won your brother then that's great, but then Jesus goes further about what to do if your brother doesn't listen. He said bring other witnesses to validate the offense, Jesus further says if they still don't listen tell it to the church and let them be to you as a heathen, pagan, gentile tax collector!!! Jesus might have sat and ate with those types of people but he did it to minister to them. He was a man on a mission. He didn't engage in their lifestyles in order to relate to them. And what i commend about you both is that you are saying "I'm approachable, come talk to me cause I'll clarify, and I'm good with agreeing to disagree." Everybody doesn't appreciate that and they Demonize that although you respond righteously and biblically.

Funny hearing Acho say he's human when he couldn't see Angel Reese's humanity. Nobody started hating on Acho when he blew up, he got called out for as Van put it "being an emotional butler for white people". Acho appointed himself as the Black representative in white spaces and allowed them to center themselves in a year of "racial reckoning". Then he has the nerve to say he has the privilege of being said Black representative because he's Nigerian and doesn't have the same generational trauma as Black America. Through it all he's refused to be accountable for the real world damage his lil show 🙄 can have on black people. On top of that he's a shallow opportunist, he needs to be challenged publicly because that's where the offense took place. Seems like Mr Uncomfortable conversations really can't handle them

Here's the issue. How you get there doesn't negate your takes being incorrect. For the people that attack your success, that's a fair answer. For those that are telling you that your frame and approach is incorrect... it's different. One doesn't have to stay up all night writing a manuscript for Oprah to be able to see incorrect behavior with white people. Students of history have the ability to notice what is ineffective and what has worked historically. No, I can't tell you that your success is wrong. I wouldn't. I can't tell you how to get where you are. However,I can tell you that your conversations with white people are not productive towards your stated goal. If white people are cheering you and supporting you as a black man having uncomfortable race conversations. You are doing it wrong. Bottom line. That is not the desired result of uncomfortable conversations. Freedom and equality do not come peacefully or charitably. There is no historical precedent outlining that. This is why many black people think that you are a grifter. You may not be. But you cannot make a career out of liberation. It isn't a career.
