People don't understand how much cases like this shaped a lot of kids back then. I'm 54 now, and i get all kinds of grief for locking doors behind me, locking car doors, even if I'm sitting in the car, being aware of my surroundings and taking my spray, stun gun, or gun with me everywhere, not leaving my kids with strangers, not letting my kids sleep over their friends house, not leaving them in cars while I shop, and I sleep with weapons. I know what's happened to me, my siblings and some friends over our childhoods. I remember the shock of the country when stuff happened, like this case. People think im wrong for not letting my guard down and relaxing, let my kids be kids. I know what happens, we all see what happens when you don't take precautions, when you watch your child walk out the door unsupervised. I don't ever want my kids to suffer like that, I don't want to suffer like these parents. 😢

@NopeMcNoperson While it's true the timelines between Sara's abduction and the blind man's construction project might not directly align, it’s worth considering that Lent had access to multiple properties and construction sites over time. If he kept her for weeks or even months before disposing of her remains, it’s possible he used a later project, like the blind man’s house, as a final hiding place. His history of deception and vague confessions leaves room for speculation about his exact actions and locations during that period.

We knew kids went missing, but Sarah was so blanketly covered that it felt like she was from your town. It really brought home that rural living didn’t mean bad things couldn’t happen to you or your friends and family.

She could be in the walls of the basement in the house that nobody has ever considered looking at for obvious reasons. According to the neighbor, he was awfully happy and willing to help him refinish the basement or whatever the project was. Especially since he was legally blind and would have a hard time seeing what was coming in and out, he would have to rely on trust. Why not on the DL speak with prisoners in the prison he's in and offer them a deal to "extract" where Sara is from him? Get Lent out of protective custody where it's safe with the other pdf.files get to go and let the gen population prisoners do their own detective work. I bet you have where she is in under a week if not a day. Yes you'd have to live with being unethical but I think it outweighs what the payoff could be.

Skip to 4:30 if you don't want to hear the short version of this entire case, from beginning to end, right before you watch the entire episode.
