Bc it does seem a bit #Obsessed. In his diss record, he used all kinds of homophobic slurs, misogynistic talking points and made up lies. He even went as far as to paste together 106 and Park interview and passed them off as "voicemails". Let’s not forget rap/hip hop still has some roots in misogyny, so it’s not like any rap fan would begin to take a woman in entertainment seriously. Some would argue that what Mariah caters to doesn’t come close to what Eminem responded with, but people forget Mariah and Eminem aren’t even in the same genre and she is a powerhouse in different ways than he is (and vice versa). Unpopular opinion: Eminem is probably telling some truth to their relationship. With how immature he is, I’m sure their situationship or whatever ended badly, and embarrassingly. She probably denied it entirely. But seriously, why would he go to such lengths, as a mega star himself, to keep saying it over and over. It is possible that there was something between them but I think Eminem's account is exaggerated. In his raps, he has exaggerated true events to tell a story. Like he did with a childhood bully-it was a true event that he used to create this story. Not calling him a liar, but he clearly has a knack for storytelling in his rap. If something did happen between them, obviously Mariah would have incentive to keep it quiet. This is the industry and having private stuff get out can be damaging to your image and career. I think Mariah and Eminem started working together musically and feelings got involved on both sides. When the media found out, she wanted to protect her image so she denied everything. Eminem being the hothead that he is became angry due to hurt feelings and lies from Mariah whom he thought he could trust. He was clearly hurt which is why he wrote so many raps about her, but the fact that she went so far as to write a song denying things instead of letting things go tells me that she felt guilty and wanted to do damage control to make him seem crazy. Before watching the video: The only observation I can make is that Marshall and Mariah seem to have more in common than you would expect, having grown up in extremely dysfunctional families and also largely influenced by black music. Being solo artists who reached worldwide fame, in a time in which celebrity culture normalized believing that the public was entitled to mainstreams stars's privacy. Both had suffered bullying in school, had been trapped in toxic marriages for a long period of time, had grown up with addicts on their family, were known, recognized and praised as songwriters, etc. So, who knows, it is possible that what attracted them to each other was that possibility of finding some type of complicity or understanding, of having grown as the black sheep of their community and being "self-made" artists... And it is possible that instead of finding that empathy, they projected all their unresolved traumas into each other or unconsciously brought those unpleasant issues they wanted to avoid to the forefront of each other's minds... Maybe that's why they grew to have such obsessive aversion and repulsion and resentment towards each other presence, because they would see on each other what they didn't wanted to (or weren't ready to) confront.

But when it comes to diss tracks, Eminem definitely wins this. The Warning is just too Brutal to ignore despite the Voicemails. I think The Warning would be a perfect Relapse bonus track. And pretty much every artist has old hits trend again because of TikTok. That doesn’t say anything about who won the feud. Clown was one of my favorite songs from her Charmbracelet album. Their entire feud was weird! I am an Eminem fan, but I am an even bigger Mariah fan! At the end of the day Mariah's music is something you can listen to everyday and feel happy and hopeful about love. Em's music will have you hating your mother. Even if I wasn't a Mariah fan logically Em saying he slept w/Mariah doesn't even track with what we know about our girl. She has always vehemently been one to make a man wait, and wait, and wait. Nick said he didn't get to have sex w/her until they were married! I know her relationship with that unattractive, geeky lookin' Australian billionaire was after the whole Em beef. Even he admitted that they never had sex either and he gave MC a 35 carat engagement ring!! In the past 30 years of Mariah being in the music industry we have NEVER known for her to be promiscuous. I do think there was some truth to what he was saying about Mariah… i do think he slept maybe once… I do believe he was obsessed after and that she just wanted a one time fling her lyrics were very specific and became casual for something that never happened.
